PLEASE HELP!
I can only access Swinging Heaven from my work PC.
When trying to enter on my home PC (via freeserve ISP) it won't allow me in!
All settings are for medium security - but anymore than that I don't know.
The home PC was supplied by TIME and is only 8 months old - Probably surplus info!
Hiya Ace,
When you say it will not let you in - what happens when you try to get in?

I have the same problem only in reverse smile :)
It could be that the Content Advisor settings are set to block the site...
Need an error message to be more helpful.

Corrie
It sounds like you've got a virus. If your computer will stay functional long enough go to:

That should find it and get rid of it for you.
Thanks both of you but still having problems with logging into mail. Instead of window coming up occasionally another Internet Navigation window comes up. I have norton installed and run every week and did twice today and this window still came up.................bugger
bugger pop ups still there maybe its not a virus???
Try using a Spyware scanner like from Lavasoft. Your broaser may have been hijacked.
just downloaded it John will let you know if successful cheers
Well it found lots of little creepy crawlies lol   Many many thanksxxxxxxx
Seems as good as any place to post this;
JQL....thanks, whilst I havnt sought advice as yet from anyone, I have been reading the threads where others have sought advice and as a result have picked up both tips and downloads that have been usefull. I am sure I am not the only one who does this so to JQL and the others that help out forum members in this way, a big thank you from mr and mrs davej....
We would do the same for you guys if we knew anything about anything but we dont (unless you want to know how to lay roofing felt  )
Dave,
Now that you mention roofing felt, the reason I am waiting for a builder is because when the roof was put on (before my time) the overhang was only half an inch (hi ho Silver comes to mind). This has caused the water to run down behind the sophit(?) and soaked the wall - took some time to find the cause I can tell you.
Any tips on fixing it without taking the slates off?

Evening Corrie ! {waves at screen then realises you can't see me}
You say your machine was rebooting - is it still doing that ?? Something like a "you're machine will shutdown in one minute" - and then it does ??
If so, then you may have the Sasser virus (on your computer, not you personally !)
I'd go to to see if you need their handy tool (ooooer matron !)
I'd also make sure you go to and use their windows update tool to patch the problem and plug your gap (double oooooer !!)
Of course, if it's not still rebooting after you've quite rightly knobbled any spyware on there then all this has been for nothing !! rolleyes
Still, anything to help ! cool

Hi Corrie,
If you still have any problems with pop-ups, select "Start Menu" then "Run" and type "msconfig" and press enter. You'll see a window called "System Configuration Utility". Select "startup" from the tabs at the top - everything in that list which is ticked is set to automatically run when you turn your computer on. So any pop-up ads (and lots of other stuff we're better off without) lists itself here.
If you write down which ones are ticked (just the column "startup item" and post them here, we can track down the culprit.
Anyway, hope this is unnecessary, and it really is okay now. The program "Adaware" which was listed earlier in the thread really is good. It's worth running once a week or so just to catch any of these things.

Many many thanks and to Stevup4it2. Still getting some pops but much less so will take on your advice smile
Another good free program to try is Spybot Search and Destroy available from it sometimes picks up things missed by adaware and vice versa. It also prevents some spyware and adware from being installed.
There's also a possiblity that the pop-ups you're getting are messenger spam. If the pop-ups look like the pic on page the follow the steps to disable the windows messaging service (this isn't the same as windows messenger and won't affect it).
