winks and profiles

Perhaps the wink feature could be modified in someway, to bring back its usefulness.
Maybe make it that the feature doesnt work until you have entered something in as your wink, i'e you cant just send the default one, and that it has to be a certain length before it will be accepted, make it so that only people with a profile that contains pics/and or other information can send them, and even maybe limit it to the "extra" members only aswell, who are likely to have a full profile.
I do see the advantage of winks, depending upon whose ad you are responding to often depends on the response you send them, some peoples ads,. are quite detailed and makes it easy to send them a more personal reply and not a wink, other peoples ads make it really hard to send them anything other than what is mainly on your own profile, so why type out or cut and paste your profile again? when a wink maybe helps get the message across that" i've seen your profile, think i fit what you want, why dont you take a look if i do." If someones ad is more detailed then you can then send them a reply that isnt just your profile but maybe answers questions they have put in their profile/ad.
When somones ad just says tell me about yourself, and that information is in your profile already isnt it a bit fruitless writing it all again, if they have mentioned specific things they are into, or want to do, or want to know about you other than just age, looks, etc, then a detailed personal reply is what should come back not just take a look at my profile or a wink.

yup, disabled winks unless their profile is at least 50% complete, be nice to have an extra icon in chat as well that indicated that the person that is relentlessy whispering you, actually has a profile worth switching to and having a look at!

Well I loved winks as I was shy, then I hated them for reasons that I can be bothered to go in to. Now I like them, but for purely selfish reasons. As I'm an 'extra' member I can customize my wink to say whatever I want - therefore the recipient doesn't necessarily realise it's a wink (unless they have blocked winks in which case they won't recieve it anyway!).
I'm not happy because I'm lazy, I'm happy because I no longer get annoyed or disheatened at typing out a nice message only to get absolutely no reply.

But then with 40E's i shouldn't expect anything else!!
