Just had talktalk fit wireless internet indoors, but my computer won't connect wirelessly.
Its saying I dont have the required wireless adaptor fitted to my computer.
Can I download this for free or do I have to by something to plug into my computer?
It's a packard bell desktop about 3 yrs old running windows vista.

You will need either a PCI wireless card or a wireless USB adapter in order for you desktop PC to connect to your modem/ router. USB is the easiest way, it saves having to open your tower, pretty cheap to get (Belkin or Netgear), make sure that what you get matches the specs of your modem/ router ie wireless or

It might be worth looking up the specification of your PC to see if it has a wireless card in it or not. It may have it but it might not be enabled.
My laptop has a button on it that switches the wireless on and off - many computers have a Fn + (a button) combination to do the switching. Look closely at any extra buttons or blue markings on existing ones.
I think a pc 3 years old or less would often have inbuilt wireless.
It's not got a wireless card fitted, so USB for me I think, cheers guys.
