what about the wheel of life, that the soul sits in limbo awaiting its next turn on the wheel.
the feeling of deja vu, that you know you have done or been somewhere before but cant explain it, regression back through lives, have never done this but would be really interested in trying it.

Earthy.. you may know this. Is it true that when you die, your soul remains at the place you died?
Talking of regression, I was once told I used to be a big busomed serving wench in the 1700's! lol

Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium,Sulfur, Sodium, Chlorine and Magnesium. Put them all together and what have you got??!! A human. Add data input and a few other bits and pieces over a period of years and you still just have a human.
Witchcraft and spells.......do I believe? No. No more than I believe in Yahweh, Allah, Santa Claus, Buddha, The Tooth Fairy, Shivra or the Easter Bunny. Death is death - a cessation of chemical activity within a chemically produced organism. Afterlives, former lives, spells, magic, fate, third eyes, ghosts etc. just prove that humans have still got much to learn about scientific fact. I realise that many people have to have faith in these things, possibly because they lack faith in themselves or perhaps because they have a fear of knowledge as did those who tortured and burnt innocent women (and men) as "witches". I am not a sheep, nor do I need a sheperd to guide me.

I myself am not religious in the sense that i am not christian, hindu, catholic etc but i believe in God, in whatever shape or form i dont know, but i am a deeper thinker (im not saying im hyper intelligent u understand lol)and i cannot put the wonders that we are surrounded by in the cosmos down to mere scientific chance. Everything we take for granted to be here on this wonderful planet is just too perfect for that, it is so perfect that it would almost be considered by the scientific community (if they put a little of that scientific objectivity they bleat on about into it :lolsmile to be DESIGNED for us!!

The wonders that we are surrounded by are not brought about by "Scientific Chance", but largely by some form of natural selection; which is very far removed from chance.
I don't think that the Design Hypothesis solves anything, as the designer itself would have to be extremely complicated/sophisticated, which brings about the original problem again... how did the designer come about. Complexity has to come initially from simplicity thus ruling out the concept of a designer.

i find that extremely offensive.
So people have faith in something, who are you to say its due to them not having faith in themselves or fear of knowledge.

And some humans have much to learn about not living inside a very small and suffocating box confused

witchcraft seems like an easy target for speculation beacuse its a relative minority that believe. im pretty sure we wouldnt be allowed to have this debate over catholics? hunduism? etc etc
i dont follow any particular religion, so maybe im not qualified to comment but i do feel its harsh to question what someone believes in just because you dont believe in it yourself.
I have to admit that I have been witness to one or two of these rather elaborate ceremonial spectacles over the last few years and I can see why some people would be freaked out by them.
Recently went to one in a pretty old gothicy type building. Quite spectacular place to be in daytime to be honest but a bit creepy at night.
Not really being accustomed to the whole “goings on” I just stayed in the side lines and watched from afar.
Okay so there was candles and chanting, they’d an altar set up and the bloke who seemed to know the most about what was going on was rather, err, elaborate and ornate in his dress sense  but hey, each to their own and I’m sure that no one on the day was put off by his flowing robes.
The majority of those there had obviously been a few times before and seemed to know where to join in when they should.
In fact that was the freaky bit for me.
The chanting almost seemed to be done by rote and I wasn’t convinced that those repeating it were actually taking a great deal of notice as to what they were saying. Almost saying it just because those around them expected them to say confused .
However, I suppose that all those people chanting and asking for the same thing at the same time must do some good, well can it do any harm??
They burnt some stuff in a little gold dish which was a bit too “herbal” smelling for me rolleyes ……
Next thing I knew was they asked two of the people in the front to step forward, which they did, COMPLETE WITH A CHILD dressed in fancy white robes as well  !!!
Then quick as a flash they’re handing the poor mite over to the bloke in the fancy robes and he’s dipping the kiddies head in water!!
Cue much distress from the kiddie and much more rote chanting from the others present who seemed to take great delight in the whole ceremony.
Bloody strange if you ask me but christenings can be like that!!!!!
Now, before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I’m not having a pop at anyones religion. I have my own views on it all.
Makes you wonder though?

Can I ask, would you have said the same in a recent thread on spirits and the afterlife? people discussed there whether they believed or not and why wouldn't religion be allowed as a debateable subject? Where would you draw the line then? Would you then not chat about same sex marriages because you don't believe in them?
In this free world, are we not allowed to talk about what we want and if you don't like the subject you would simply opt out?
I hadn't thought of witchcraft as a contrast to religion, my initial thread was in reference to a site I had been on and asked for people's views on spells in the main.
I for one am always open to new ideas and to have my thinking challenged and as it happens I received PM's on this subject (nice ones) which has opened my eyes, so in answer to your post it has been of great benefit to me personally and that is a good thing wouldn't you agree?lol
jaymar, i didnt see the thread that you mention, simple as that.
i see witchcraft as a religion like any other and i made no reference to the original post, i was responding to the science vs religion point actually.
i wasnt suggesting the subject shouldnt be discussed. as far as im aware, subjects such as religion, war, politics etc are generally dodgy ground on forums and are avoided? i may be wrong but that is what i have been lead to believe. i concede that "allowed" may have been the wrong word to use.
of course we can all express our views on the forum, thats all i did.
im glad youve had positive responses, of course thats a good thing
At the end of the day folks........ it gets dark!
its a question of beliefs, some believe, some dont, i think personally that anyone who doesnt believe in "something else" are a bit narrow minded and dim really but hey, thats just me, im not really bothered whether people are C of E, catholic wicca, witches, wizards or even the most dreaded lot....SWINGERS lol
Whats important is that we have our own points of view and opinions an belief systems and as long as it aint hurting anybody, whats the problem with that!?

I was heading home on a train, not long ago. I sat at a table, I was joined by a woman. She wore a pallet of earth colours, browns and yellows, a large blue stone 'amulet'. The whole appearance conger-ed up an image of 'the lady who plays with plants at the far end of the village' look. Sorry I can not put it better.
I nod she nods, the train moves off. She smiles, she casts her spell, I smile.
When we return to our seats I ask myself how that happened?
Does anyone know? Was it supernatural? Was it just sexual chemistry?
