Right I've got the urge to drive trucks again out of my system (for another 12 months at least) and the pay is shite round here too many Polish types doing the job for fook all so it's carear change time again at PKHQ biggrin
Now stick with me as this is may get confuseing confused
As I need to fire off a CV I've tried to stick MS office on PK's laptop but it ain't haveing any but deep down in the bowls of Windows ME I've found Word Pad now I always used XP and MS office before and this programme apears to me to be a scaled down version of MS word you get with office however it has no spell checker (god only knows I need one) and we have no printer. So I was going to rattle off a CV on here then nip to the libary open the document on one of their machines spell check it and print it simple as that.
Now the question I have is will a document written in this basic word programme open and be editable (is that a word dunno) in a full singing and dancing version of word?
I know I could sit up the libary and do it all from their but it will take me ages so I'd rather do most of the work at home and besides I have an alegy towards lamo pot noodle eating students lol
You could email it us and we could check it and send back dunno
You would be able to edit it Sheddy but it would take ages to do hun....
Are you starting from scratch or do you already have a C.V. on disc??

That was going to be my next question :lol2: Did Sheddy want me to do one for him? dunno

Good lord no I've not written one since 1992
I may go down the lines of steves sugestion if thats ok........once I've cobbeled a pack of lies together that constitues an employment hisory lol
I will PM you my email address and you can send it over when you have done... I will rearrange it and send it back :lol2:

You are an absolute angel kiss tho not sure when I will be able to get it to you as my typeing is not of the quickiest redface
You could always try one of a couple of excellent open source options.
provides a full "office" package (with spreadsheet, word processing, database, drawing and presentation tools) and is very similar to MS Office....but it's free!
If you want less download time and just a word processor, try .

I know you probably have it sorted as to what you want to do, but for future reference, libraries are unlikely to allow you to put a disk into one of their machines in case it infects them. It's been a while since I needed to do that, so maybe wrong.
Another option is if you have an online email address, or accessible anywhere. You could then email it to yourself, go to said library, open your email, cut and paste your cv from your email into Word, sort it, then email it back to yourself as an attachment. Sounds longwinded, but actually isn't.
Hope that helps

That's a bluddy good idea Mal wink

Have you tried applying for jobs on line?
That way you don't have to print it at all
Sheddy
I run my own office, so printing off (x) number of cv's for you and posting them back to you is not a problem, once you are sorted with writing it etc.

For future reference, save it as RTF (Rich Text Format) in Wordpad and it will open in Word ok.
