What was the one that Telly 'Kojak' Savalas did years ago?
Has to be that version of Queen's We Will Rock You by Five.
I would personally like to put Brian May up against a wall and shoot him for allowing such a dire cover to be produced. No-one should be allowed to cover Queen songs, ever.
William Shatner.
Surely I need say no more?
I find it ironic that Britney Spears has released a 'Greatest Hits' album. I envisaged 70mins of silence... :P
zootle, I didn't mean to suggest that the original was any good, but it suited Britney, but 4 opera type singers singing that song 'opera style'.....................
flapjackboy............... I'm guessing you didn't see this Saturday's X-factor, G4 did a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rapsody - again opera style - and you're right, they shouldn't be allowed to, I don't think anyone could do that song justice!!
the majority of recent covers are by the "boyband" or "girlband" catergory, it is common prctice in the music industry thses days Alot of it is due to lack of imagination by the producers/promoters and a sever lack of talent by these artists mainly generated by television shows .
as for some real bad ones there are as follows
we will rock you by queen covered by five
radio ga ga another quuen track done this month dont know who covered it but it is awfull
stairway to heaven by rolf fecking harris (aussie cu#t)
behind blue eyes by the who, covered by limp bizkit a supposed rock band that dropped the guitair break in the middle of the song rumour has it they could not master it !!
now some good ones
waterloo sunset by the kinks covered by david bowie , very good
stone cold crazy by queen covered by metallica
live and let die by wings covered by guns n roses
Click if you dare.... so bad it's good.... A medley of Radiohead songs in a Hilbilly Hoedown Style
Don't say I didn't warn you!
Robsom and Jerome or whatever their names were did a pretty poor attempt at covering Unchained Melody.........
It should be illegal for record companies to just hand out songs for new 'acts' to do cover versions of. Let them write their own material for a change and get some originality into the charts.
I dont think i could narrow it down to just one. its very rare that a cover is as good as the original. but i do like Eletric Six's version of radio ga ga!...
if i had to pick Just one it would have to be either All Saints Under The bridge originally by Red Hot Chili Peppers or Wycliffe jean's Another One Bites The Dust originally by Queen
jgl how can you like the radio ga ga cover it is terrible
