I can't believe you've mentioned some of the films I think are really good - Fight Clubfor example is brilliant, I love it!
Most sequels are shit so i won't go into that. The remake of Stepford Wives(nicole kidman?) now that was shite! On the whole, remakes are generally pretty dire. Look atWar of the Worlds. Wtf was that about? Cack, I tell ya!

I'm gonna get stoned for this, i know but I really don't get the Lord of the Rings thing. I've now tried 3 times to watch just the first one and I can't get past the first 20 minutes without switching it off in boredom. If a film doesn't grab my attention by that point, it doesn't get watched.
