Well I feel completely knackered.
Last night I had one of the worst nights ever. Wasn’t feeling too good before we went to bed so I decided to sleep in the spare room. Before I turned in I thought I’d make one last try to get the cat in – so at 12 midnight I opened the door to be confronted with a very proud cat and a squeaking rat in his mouth!
I shouted at him to ‘go somewhere else with it’ or words to that effect, to be met with a look that said ‘well it’s for you and it’s even still alive. If that’s all the thanks I get – I’m buggering off.’
Two hours later I was in the toilet vomiting. In between retches I could hear his nibs snoring in the other room. rolleyes
5 am the dog wants to go out for a pee. Let him out in the garden – he seems to be a long time – so I made a cup of tea. I heard him skittle past behind me and up to the bedroom.
With Choon still snoring happily away, I enter the spare bedroom to be met by the dog sitting in my side of the bed with a very pleased look on his face. In between his paws was the – now dead – rat! I nearly faint! Couldn’t wake Choon as he would’ve been stumbling around semi-conscious – he’s not too good at that time of the day – bless him!
So I had to dispose of this poor soaking wet dead body all on my own.
My darling, oblivious Choon was met by a note outside his room this morning warning him not to come in and ‘disturb me’ under any circumstances. :jagsatwork:
I’m off to bed soon for what I hope will be a normal night’s sleep.
Anybody else experienced that sort of night?

:therethere: Angelica ohhh what a hideous night. kiss I have had similar in the past with my lovely moggies. One evening in particular, eldest moggie came home with a shrew and we had to try and get the poor half dead creature off her and my ex had to finish it off with a brick :upset: Then in the early hours, youngest moggie who is epileptic had a fit and that took ages to sort out. Just dozing back off and mayhem breaks downstairs and it's clear one of the moggies is chasing something. Up I get, I don't wear slippers, and padded down stairs and then it happenend... Squelch between my toes and I screamed!! Ex ran to my aid and switched on the light and when we looked, I was stood in bits of chewed up bird!!!! :sticky: :scared: Not a night I like to recall very often lol

Ewwwww! I know cats think they are bringing us a present but .....why????

yes had the remains inbetween the toes bit before, i never turn lights on when wandering around the house(ex) forget where i am and promptly nearly break my shin on the coffee table.
or get woken up by cat lying right next to as she used to do and bring up a furball in my ear almost. :uhoh:
or if im quick enough throw her off the bed to do it, only to step in it in the morning cause i forgot.

Once I stop laffin, I'll give you a big hug! rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Oh you poor love :rotflmao: :rotflmao: sorry, I'll stop in a minute :lol2:
I love cat stories, creased up here also at Varca and UKwineman :rotflmao:
Hate it when they bring in live things confused The past couple of weeks, both the cat and my youngest have been 'guarding' a couple of blackbirds that have decided to nest in our ivy fence. My daughter there with her arms out wide, looking at the cat with her 'you dare' face. The cat looking back at her with her 'well you can't stand like that all night' face on  So it's a stand off, apart from bath time, where I had to do guard duty
Trouble is, the nest is so heavily guarded, that the poor buggers can't get in and out the hedge to build their nest ......... they cleared off a couple of days ago, took the cat about an hour to realise. My youngest, I had to tell eventually :?
Hope you're feeling better tho Angelica kiss
Angelica
Get better soon.
My cat use to do that as well, proud face 'look at me' complete with mouse or bird in mouth, and struts off to the newly washed kitchen floor!! lol
There's nothing worse than being up during the night puking and all you want is a cuddle and sleep and your other half is throwing the 'z's out!
Hope you are feeling much better Angelica xx

.
My cat brought in an adder once, the bastard! It was well and truly alive, cross too x
lol Angelica how men are so not there to help you!!!!!!!
A couple of weeks ago(a Saturday night) I woke up at about coughing and choking, not able to breathe. This has happened before last year and I was off work for a while. I rummaged around for an inhaler, walked around the bedroom, went downstairs and made a cup of tea and generally was coughing and not breathing for about two hours    . Lying in bed next to me all this time was Martell, totally oblivious to what was happening to me. Eventually at about I got back to sleep.
In the morning he woke up and said - "did you sleep well darling??" smiling at me. Now I have to say I was coughing enough to wake the dead !!!!!!!
I got my own back mind lol. We are moving house so a decision was made (by me) that we would eat all the food we had already in the house to cut down on things to move to a new house (which we havent got btw so homeless in 3 weeks lol). We made a concoction of stuffed peppers, bacon ratatoulle and chips. 5 spoonsful in, Martell rushes out of the room to the toilet next to the lounge. Now I was really hungry and enjoying my dinner and all I could hear was Martell heaving really loudly in the toilet   . What a dilemma for me. I was hungry ffs lol I went to the bathroom door and said "Are you okay????" I heard this mumble and then "bluuuugggggggggghhhhhhhhhh". "Well okay" I said"let me know if I can do anything". I then shut the door between the lounge and the toilet so I couldnt hear him and continued to eat my tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!   He was fine btw - back eating a bowl of chips an hour later lol lol

Ewwwww! I know cats think they are bringing us a present but .....why????(quote tune)
i have read this is because cats cannot be 'owned' by a human, rather they consider you to be their 'kitten'& as such they, as in the wild pass on their skills for survival. the bring of creatures is to allow you to learn how to hunt & kill to eat.

Hmmmm I heard that cats considered us as 'staff' :undecided:
Any cat owner employee knows that face, the one where you've put down a fresh lot of catfood, and it ain't quite to the cats gourmet standard rolleyes
So my conclusion as to why cat's bring in these creatures are either....
a) that they're using their famous sarcasm to tell you what they think of the 'muck' you dished up this morning, see how you like it, go on have a taste, or
b) they give it to you to gut, skin, sauté, flambé, with a drizzle of gravy and served up on a shredded bed of fresh prawns on a silver platter
As the 'flambé' part tends to make cats do that arch back, hissing, christmas tree tail, karate chop pose, I'm inclined to go with reason A, their revenge for feeding em something that wasn't quite up to their standards :undecided:
I do the same thing with my mother.

Probably wanted to butter you up before it asked whether it could join the pussy posse. lol
My worst nght doesnt involve getting woken up by animals, it involves one very crap night in hospital.
I was out of it most of the day so i spent most of the day fast asleep....i finally woke up at 9pm, and freaked out, i have no idea why but i freaked. I then managed to get back to sleep but because of the drip i was being fed through i needed to go to the toilet every half hour (probably didnt need to but i felt like it) It was the longest night of my life. I hate hospital
