Just wondered if there were any avid skiers in our community?
A newish member has asked there were many skiers amongst us following my suggestion of a trip to Xscape in Castleton.
You never know, if the idea takes off, a skiing trip to Europe, or even a weekend in Aviemore could be a right giggle with people from here.
Just think of the Apres Ski! :shock:

Neil lives near xscape in castleton and we've been on a sunday....... riddlied with kids screaming! 
It looks good though and they have an ice climb too which looks fantastic!
I'm rubbish at skiing but I might need practice for family holiday next winter where theyve promised to push me down the piste instead of nextdoors' drive way! :lol:

Certainly. It's just around the corner for us. Midweek, I might struggle a bit but I'm sure neil would love it. He loves climbing, not sure if he's keen on skiing. I know he had his eye on the ice climb as I dragged him off to the warm and cosy cinema!
Its nice little complex, plenty to do for partners who don't like the cold!:kiss:

will have to keep an eye on this then. as it's something I always want to try and never had the chance, probably fall flat on my face, so would have to have someone show me the basics

As I have already said - I would not be able to do anything other than a trip to Castleton, however there does seem to be some interest around.
So maybe see who else would be interested in the next few weeks and go from there.
If you do get a trip organised - just don't rub it in about how good the skiing was!
I can take being told that the Apres Ski was magnificent - but not the skiing!

I'm going to Rauris in Austria on 19/1/06 if anybodys headed that way.
Been to castleford 6 or 7 times & am there next monday. Slopes a bit short but it gives you valuable practice. Just a note to anyone who's thinking of going, they won't let you on the main slope unless you can link turns & stop properly. So unless your going to book lessons it'll be for experienced skiiers only.

We maybe across the border in Bavaria then (not certain as yet). Hoping to get some skiing in, but also visiting friends out there.
I put a link to the Xscape web site on my first post in a thread on LMU (see link below) - all the conditions are on there.
Ideally most people would be at least intermediate stage - but with enough notice I could check to see if there are spaces in the ski school.
I'll check this week for the best dates in Jan/Feb.

Xscape Cas would be good............ but leaners need to realise thay can't be on the slope without tuition!!!!!!
