OK I admit X-Factor has it's moments where its funny, though how staged it is I'd like to know, and worth a giggle for a few minutes but honestly. Do the majority of entrants to X-Factor walk onto the stage straight from appearing as guests on the Jeremy Kyle show? Then whittled down until we end up with a musically sanitised bunch of cloned people who have to have the same or similar tragedy struck reasons to dedicate their lust for stardom on?
What a load of old media led heap of shite is what I think it is. Oh yes i am envious of Cowell's millions, of course I am. He must be falling over with laughter and disbelief at his fortune in coming across such a lucrative way of selling crappola to the us all.
At this point i'd like to point out that the poll is 100% coming down on the X-Factor is shite side biggrin
Yup, still at 100% shite lol
if mcdonalds changed business its what they would produce.
I refuse to watch it! but am getting annoyed it's talked about so much on the radio in the past few day's!!!!!
I have to say not a big fan....but
Hey this is TV entertainment...nothing more..and nothing less.
If you don't like it go watch one of the other 100 channels now available. Fact is it regularly gets the highest rateings for the week on ITV..and so they can charge the earth for advertising at that time.

Of course your right Dean, and, we could say the same thing about almost anything and leave nothing to discuss give opinion or reaction to or deliberate. What do we do in forum then? Just keep wishing people happy birthday.
I believe it's shame that the media can manipulate the public into going with the hype if it tries long and hard enough. Whether thats right and proper is another question although I do love it when unexpexted programs become big successes though I realise that as soon as they do then they become once again media led and jump into the pockets of the money moguls.
and hey...it gave us ...Girls Aloud
For that alone...I vote its good !!!!

A VERY valid point Dean! lol
sorry but i love it but then i never hide the fact i'm a reality tv addict yes you may call me sad and i will most limely agree with ya but hell y not i love x factor, strictly, celebrity jungle and many others n yes i was proper gutted when BB finished
my dream came true last fri when i managed to get tickets to be in the audience for the first night of strictly so you can imagine my dismay when i couldn't go as due to an op i had a week before meant i wasn't upto going proper gutted i was spent the whole prog just thinking i should be there right now
so sad in fact am i that i spend all day sat at work looking forward to getting home slipping into my pj's and opening a bottle of wine n settling in front of the tv for x factor n strictly pure heaven for me btu then i know i'm not alone as i can honestly say 95% of my clients are exactly the same
Yup... I'm another! I love X Factor. I don't watch many of the rest... reality programs aren't really my bag although I do confess to liking the whole bug eating thing on Celebrity Jungle but I love Ant and Dec too so that's a bonus! Oh... and I also love Dancing on Ice! redface
I also got sucked into The Apprentice last night... I was swearing at the telly five minutes in! :giggle:
Any program where the gullible audience have to vote people on / off the following weeks show is a total waste of air time imho.
I'm sure if you google hard enough, you find out who has won this years trash factor. It's fixed I tell ya.
My only hope is that there will be another campaign to prevent the sad act (sorry winner) from claiming the Christmas No1 spot.

So, does Ian watch it 'under protest', or does he go find something else to do when it's on telly?
Oh, and I quite enjoy it too smile

Or eggs! :giggle:
I can't stand it but I watch it by proxy, or rather I watch Neil watch it because his reactions are far more entertaining to observe! lol
The reality/talent show things get Nellie everytime. With the Apprentice he swears at it and tells them how to run their businesses! Britain's Got Talent he's critiquing the routines, song choice or outfits! On x factor he's either whooping with joy, tutting or weeping along. You know when they do that heart string tuggy thing, he ends up blubbing along with Cheryl going... "ooooo aint it beeeeautiful, I canna beleeeeve yav bin through so moooch, meee art bleeeeds fer yer, it's a yesss fra me!" I look over to find him snivelling along.
I was a Big Brother watcher, so I have no room to criticise really.

I am usually on my laptop when pop factor comes on the telly, although the last two weekends it's been pub o'clock to make sure I dont have to sit through it.
I have no problem with watching people with talent perform, it's the airheads and wannabees who spoil the show.
Imagine the scenario if x factor were replaced by the FA Cup. For the first thirty weeks of the show, you'll just see Red Lion Rovers having a kick about in the park with the Kings Tavern third eleven.
Quality TV is what we should have, and an immediate improvement would be to start it at the live final. (and that's singular not plural). If they can get through Eurovision Song Contest in one night, why ruin the season....
After reading a couple of days ago that someone is thinking about releasing it to compete with the Cowell Christmas Croon, I think all the X factor contestants should perform John Cage's 4'33"
Would rather gouge my eyes out with rusty spoons than watch X-Factor

Nope - that was popstars the rivals.
X Factor has given us shuch shite as Steve Brookstein (who?) Shayne Ward (who?) Leona Lewis (OK, she's not doing too bad) Leon Jackson (?) Alexandra Burke (again, not doing too bad) Joe McElderry (who?)
JLS AND G4 were runners up and had a spot in the limelite for a while but the others above - X Xfactor creates stars? Yeah right lol X Factor creates one hit wonders. Well done Simon Cowell - such an achievement!
Shower of shit and the proof is above

Noooo it wasn't the X-Factor... that was Pop Idol the Rivals bolt
And the post above is a perfect example of why all posts should be read carefully and thoroughly before posting lol
They are all crap - bring back Opportunity Knocks. You want to know why?
Cos the bloke fronting it never, ever, mocked those taking part and the ones shown had already gone through real auditions and had a chance to make something of themselves.
The current crop of 'talent' shows are nothing to do with helping young talent and 100% to do with publicly humiliating poor kids most of whome have no talent in the first place and who, in a civilised society, would be quietly enouraged to seek an alternative route to fame and fortune. Not made to cry for a television audience.

Steve Brookstein as I highlighted above in bold. I actually didnt like the guy much during the show but funnily I have found a little respect for him in his non fame years. The guy polled first in every single Xfactor live show and also had the highest winning vote per centage of any final winner to date. His first album an album of cover songs sold by the bucket load and he was all ready and waiting to do a second album. This is where I gain a little respect for him. Simon Cowell wanted him to do another album of covers but Steve wanted to sing his own material. Neither backed down and Steve was axed from the record label. Fair play Mr Brookstein for sticking to your own beliefs and being true to what you wanted to be. Steve may not have have gone on to be lasting star but he may well have turned down the opportunity of a few more successful albums and quite probably a tour. All happened in under a year as by the time the next Xfactor series started it was all already done and dusted.
Sorry - I'm fraid I can't stand it. However, I usually get drawn into each year because Sappho and Sappho Jr are ardent fans and there is only so far I can go to avoid it.
The worst bit is the terribly cheesy choreography. Frankly, most of X-factor offends my musical senisibilities.*

* Though there are saving graces in the form of Danni Minogue and contestants like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke
