bad isn't it
has anyone else had a sim email ??
if you do get one, don't open it but also don't delete it, keep it as prove for now if needed..
if you don't open the attachment you won't get the virus... i will find out the name of the virus now...
edit, the virus name is -MM ( worm )
sharon
Have noticed I seem to get many more of those type of mails on than on msn or aol - bit of a pain but no worse than all the other junk mail.
well until you open the attachments maybe

That doesn't mean the user is actually knowingly sending you this email. Worms are self propergating so if what you say is correct Sharon, then the user of the IP address you have at that time would of been infected with that worm and didn't know it. Everytime that person would go onto a web page or send emails they would be giving that worm more addresses to send itself to.
Also please note that a web IP address does not stay the same unless you have a static one. Those however are mainly used for businesses only and no home user would really need one.
The thing you do need to mark down is the MAC address. This would be difficult to get hold of if you don't have the correct 'tools' for the job. You could always contact the ISP of that IP address and let them deal with it. It is after all in their own best interests.
Please just don't go accusing (or naming) people as they themselves might of been a victim of this worm email scam. It needs to be handled with tact. If they are guilty then chances are they will run and hide. If not then they wouldn't mind giving up their IP, MAC and email addresses to the ISP and authorities to investigate it further.
I used to get them too. I wouldn't open them, and I put a block on 20 to 30 different phrases within the letter, and the barrage of addresses they use.
I also reported them back to .
Once I had to change my email address to get rid of them.
They seemed to contain the stinger virus when I was getting them. You can download antistinger softwear on the net.
bloody hell even i cant remember my own mobile number so if a auto virus knows it id be gobsmacked lol
