With munches coming up in Nottingham and Manchester in the next few months, I'm not sure there's any particular need for a Yorkshire munch, is there?

can't travel as in...
as frecklebird said.... one in leicester in a couple of weeks... travelling time 90 minutes
one in nottingham.... traveling time.. 60 minutes...
i know that they we going to organise one in manchester... travelig time... 60 mnutes...
in all honesty, do you need one to be really on your doorstep for you to go.... half the point of going is the travelling to new places and meeting new people, and if everyone had the "i only want to go to one on my doorstep" attitude then you would never meet anyone...
unless you were going to organise one???? step up and do it then..... if everyone sits around and waits on everyone else i find that nothing ends up getting done....

Cripes - well I was going to suggest something soon but I am too busy travelling up and down the country meeting you lovely peeps! Hey I know Premier Lodges and Holiday Inns intimately - sad sad sad I know but much fun :twisted:
Agree with Sean the big part of it for me is the getting about (nar then!) but understand that something a bit nearer might be called for.......
Maybe later on in the year - my mind is on somewhere hot at the moment to be honest

I think a Yorkshire Munch is a great idea. I think any Munch is a great idea! It's just a matter of timing - you don't want it to be too close to another event.
In fact, what's wrong with having Munches all over? Just 'cos some of you have the means and the money to travel up and down the country doesn't mean we all do.
Personally, I have to consider finances, babysitters, university, transport ....
... I have limited funds, very unreliable childcare, a heavy workload and no car ..oh, and then there's accommodation .. does that come under finances?
Anyway. Whether it's Manchester, Leicester, Notts, Essex, Glasgow ... makes no difference .. just more options for everyone. I just try and fit in what I can and it's not half as much as I'd like :cry:

You got me thinking... why don't we Sheffielders/South Yorkshire folk meet up soon for a drink - mid week would be fine by us! A quiet pub me thinks where we can sit in a corner and chin wag!

Well Neil, if nobody can find a new venue for the NW munch, perhaps there'll be a chance of a Leeds munch in April instead. Know any suitable venues?

This sounds like a good idea. How do these things get organised though? Do we throw a date into the hat and see how many people are interested?
If so, how does Wednesday 3rd February sound at a pub to be decided nearer the time and only discussed between those attending?
Has anyone else got any ideas?
