1) Legalise Cannabis
2) Legalise prostitution
3) Legislate to make it harder to get married.
4) Legislate to make it easier to get divorced.
5) Put sex/relationship education on the National Curriculum from the day they start school, till the day they leave. Just like literacy & numeracy.
Put map-reading and book-keeping on the curriculum, so be breed a generation who can get from A to B and manage their money to avoid getting into debt.
1No one is allowed to have more than a million pounds, any more and they will have to give it to other, less fortunate people.
2Every Monday will become a national holiday biggrin :D :D
3All spiders in the country have to be hunted down and killed lol
4All adults are to be made available once a month to test out the lastest attractions at Theme parks, just to double check the safety, for this everyone will be paid as if they'd been to work.
5All chocolate would be banned for the good of the nation!!(please dont hate me for that one!) bolt

1: A task force will be set up to go through every government department, QUANGO and government contractor with a remit to find all the unjustifiable positions being held by people. If you cannot justify your job to this task force's satisfaction, you get handed your P45.
2: Political Correctness will be made illegal. Anyone showing even minor PC tendencies will be carted off for re-education. Political Correctness is evil and must be eliminated.
3: The Chunnel will be sealed off, but not before we've put on a special Eurostar train for all the bogus asylum seekers, promising them free, no questions asked entry into the country. Once the train is on the way, we blow explosive charges placed at both ends of the tunnel, sealing the buggers in.
4: The government will compulsory purchase all the telephone exchanges and trunk lines back from BT, forcing them to compete on equal footings with the rest of the telcos. We will also pour large amounts of cash into upgrading our datacomms network, ensuring that every single home and business in the country can have access to cheap and fast internet access.
5: Cannabis and prostitution will be legalised. Licenses to produce cannabis products will be auctioned off to any legitimate companies that put in workable bid proposals, the money raised from these auctions will go towards helping addicts of harder drugs kick the habit, as will the taxes raised from the sale of cannabis products. This will also free police resources to crack down on the dealers peddling the class A drugs, rather than busting every two bit dope dealer who sells the odd bit of weed now and again. Again, with prostitution legalised, it will free up police resources, the industry can be regulated and taxed. The working girls will be safer because they will have to work from licensed, secure brothels.
6: Licensing laws will be brought more in line with those in europe. Our licensing laws date back to WWII and are therefore irrelevant in today's society. Pubs and clubs will be allowed to stay open as long as they deem fit, eventually putting an end to the binge drinking culture we have here in the UK.
7: All male babies will be sterilised at birth and contraception will be mandatory. Couples wanting to have children must apply for a license first, part of the application being both a written and psychological examination to determine their fitness to raise a child. The would-be parent's financial situation would also be assessed to make sure that they could provide for said children. If all goes well, said couple will be given the go ahead to have a child. The pregnancy will be initiated via artificial insemination and the license is good for one child only. Should the couple want a second child, another application needs to be made.

parents more responsible for the behaviour of their offspring. So if little Johnny is caught committing vandelism the parents as well as the child are punished. Make parent reponsibble liable for everythinglitlle Johnny does regardless of his age (up to 18 ) and where he is at the would be made to cover the cost of the crime and payable to the victim. It never ceases to amaze me when parents of vandals turn round a nd say, "Well you cant keep your eye on them all the time, can you?" Well yes actually you can!! We always did.
2. Improve public transprt so that we are not all dependant on cars, and stop the two teir society we have at the moment - those that have cars and those that dont.
3. Stop paying out benefits to the long tem undmployed. Either they take some kind of work or they get out of the country, see if anyone else will keep them. A third option would be for them to do some kind of community work for their benefits eg, hedge trimming , litter collecting etc
off our "special relationship" with the US which so far has cost us an absolute fortune, and many lives.

Yep, been listening to him for years. And James Whale too. In fact, been listening to TalkSport since it came on the air, back when it was Talk Radio. (When IMHO, it was much better.)
I listen to it most days too, you may well have heard me on the phone in.. ive rang in a couple of times and sent a few texts too.. it makes my day go so much quicker

Good idea.. but then what would happen to Opec? Shell etc...?? you honestly think they will fund or allow to be funded a form of cheap renewable energy? not in our lifetime

I take it you want to take us back to the world of idiots (a medical term about 50 years ago), cretins, cripples, retards, etc. etc.

Right
(1) Every young adult age 18 will be given the opportunity to take a percentage of there pension as a cash lump sum (pension amount will be based upon education and grades up to that point taking into account any uni degrees applied for). This will allow all of us to enjoy money at a point in our lives when it can be enjoyed properly.
(2) Scrap inheritance tax - its bloody stupid to have a tax on money which has already had tax paid on it (i.e. income tax, stamp duty (in the case of a house etc etc)
(3) All gatso cameras wil be ritualistically and methodicallly destroyed in a mass cull.
(4) All money gathered by the treasury from road tax, tax on fuel etc etc will be spent on the bloody roads or possbly public transport
(5) Large companies should be forced to link cheif executives bonus's to company profits like evryone else in the organisation.

I agree parents of persistant offenders should take responsibilty, which can also mean making a concerted effort to find out what it is which is causing their child to behave so badly. It`s not ALWAYS a lack of parental guidance, but can be many other factors, including unhappiness at school and ADHD to name but a few. As long as the parents are trying to get to the bottom of the problem, and consulting teachers and other professionals then please don`t add to their woes by piling on more pressure via `punishing` them.
I`m one who doesn`t `keep an eye on my kids` all the time, but at 13 and 16, I don`t believe I should (or could for that matter), it`s unhealthy for them. I do like to know where they are, and when they`ll be back however.

Also give em the training (where needed) then space to actually be parents. Not say you are responsible, but if you stop your 14 year old going out to buy drugs you have committed assault (this Dad held her wrists) or abused their rights (a friend put a lock on their door to ensure they remained in the house as they had been got into drugs)
No point in damned if you do, damned if you don't...

Legalise prostitution. Exploitation is BAD, that is what the laws were designed to prevent, but they have been changed to try and stop prostitution. Forcing it underground and making it a haven for the very practises we are trying to stop. i.e. exploitation...
You don't want prostitutes fight the causes (not the Guys paying, I mean the poverty), not the girls. Also remember some women want to do that for a living, others just don't mind. We should not be so judgemental of them or their punters (This a whole other thread maybe)
_____________________________________________
Increase income tax, and abolish a lot of the smaller taxes and VAT for Income tax payers. I would rather pay my tax once then the money is mine to spend as I want. Which means you don't tax me again to buy anything, or to save it, or to leave it to my kids...
_____________________________________________
Add a 50% tax band and a 60% tax band for higher earners and simplify the tax system
_____________________________________________
Allow people to do volunteer work and have a simple daily allowance for expenses so that it doesn't mean volunteer 8 hours, spend 1 hour filling in paperwork for £10 expenses to keep tax man happy
_____________________________________________
Get out of work people back to work with social jobs that need doing. I would rather be litter picking 4 days a week (with a day off for job hunting) than stuck at home with nothing to do but watch daytime television. Make these social jobs flexitime so that you have no problems with arranging interviews and allow them to study if required instead. Idea to get people up and give them something to do. Tie this to the benefits, no work, basics only, do this and you go up to job seekers allowance.
_____________________________________________
Provide actual child care places from 3 months - school, and after school as well. Basic childcare is what holds so many at home, it also cripples those that do work. One of the social jobs could easily be looking after other peoples kids?
_____________________________________________
Make an asylum village, all the amenities, but a big fence round it. Make it a small town in size and move all new asylum seekers in there while we process their applications. If you genuine you get a passport and you leave. While you wait you are in a real British town, you got cinemas and food places, a roof over your head, you just need to stay in the town. If you not genuine you gone (it could have a small airstrip and a few RAF planes...)
Keep order with a simple rule, break the law and you get shipped home. The town can employ local people to run the amenities, and refugees as well so they get a feel for British life, and a chance to get a little used to the culture before they get housed in the 'real' world. Also keeps costs down while providing local jobs and amenities.
Keep biometric data on applicants, you get denied, that is for life. Go round and come back again, we can ID you in a matter of hours and bye bye. Keep doing it and you go to jail. Hard but there are other countries in the world and would stop spurious applications, you only got 1 shot, if you are in real trouble you will use it, if you out for the easy life on benefits you will lose the right to our help. May make them think before they leap...

Certainly not. I'm not advocating that in any way, all I'm saying is that we need to stop people making idiotic decisions because it's the PC thing to do. Such as all these schools who baned parents from bringing cameras into school plays, or (IIRC) Birmingham council trying to rename Christmas to 'Winterval'. It's this rise in the number of little hitlers telling us what we can and can't say and do that I'm wanting to get rid of.
Hmmm,
Re-strucuture the NHS so that it doesn't screw GP's and therefore improve patient care. I would educate the populus on the futility of asking a doctor about what to do about a cold.
Add the concept of social responisibility to the secondary curriculum. People's lives should not be micro-managed by the government, but people should be aware that smoking, obesity etc. cost society dear.
Ban the management practice and education of management. Personally, I am awed by the techniques employed to produce happy workers...when they are not really happy - but it is a little unnerving
Massively increase investment into public transport and make it a viable alternative to cars - faster, cheaper, and vaguely comfortable. Starting with the evil Nexus in newcastle. "Protecting the Metro's revenue" - scary!
Finally, concentrate on making Europe a force to be reckoned with and distance the UK from the US.

That was fun!

I knnew someone would have to defend the childs right to creat havoc.
If the child is unhappy at school the parent is reponsible for sorting it out. If the worst comes to the worst it is the parents responability to educate the child themselves!! Teachers are 99% committed and do all they can but if the parent creates an unbearable home situation it is up to them not school or social services to deal with , well again this is often diagnosed to cover up a bad diet or a home situation that is not stable. Im not going to reveal my exact qualifications on here but believe me i am qualified to say this, unfortuately i can only do so whilst annonymous.
I would go as far as to say that if you dont know where your 13 year old is and what he or she is doing you are failing not only the child (think of the safety aspect not if he or she can be trusted) but also putting the rest of society at risk from his behaviour
Some points there foxy, i'm not qualified in this field, but from what I have seen there is as I said a 2 tier system. On the one side, look out for your kids (a good thing), on the other if you try to stop them doing anything you 'bad' and you get arrested.
This a repeat from my other post, but with some more detail. Now I cant get the links but there was a local MP arrested, charged, and convicted for assault. He had held his 14 year old daughters wrists to stop her going out to buy drugs. Now he was a pillar of the community (no doubt we can say he spent too much time becoming one, and not enough with his family) and when he tried to protect his child we (society) arrested him.
The other example is from my own family, not my direct family, but a relative. The daughter got caught up in drugs, the mother after numerous police visits bringing her home and not much working tried to ground her. When she just went out she put a lock on the door to keep her in, social services told her that she couldn't keep her locked in, it violated her 'rights' as a child.
So how would you punish this parent? If they try to get them on a rehab program or keep them away from the dealers they are breaking the law. If they physically stop them, they breaking the law. If the kids go out and wreak havoc the parents breaking the law?
Hope you can sort that one, I cant see a solution. Where the parent does not care maybe you have a case to punish them, where they do care but we tie their hands punishment does not seem appropriate.
Tallnhairy
If the parents dont care then they should have to pay for the child to be looked after by those who will, and no pussy footing around, if the parents cant afford it then they should have to work to pay for the care. It is not the fault of those honest, careing parents who pay taxes to take care of the kids who have the misfortune to have bad parents.
As for the parents who do care, they should be supported but at an early stage before the problem becomes a nuisance to us all
The media always portrays badly behaved children as being from materially poor homes, this is not always the case. I have in my time come across many badly socialised childrens from middle class families, they too should be made to face up to their responabilities
Quote by foxylady 123

Foxy I totally agree with you. Underneath I think we have the same views, support the parents, and punish those who really don't care and leave it all to everyone else. It would also prevent the situation as discussed by some of the others here, where parents who are struggling but not coping would not get punished.
It all comes down to balance, I think most parents care, and I would hope most parents would work to save their kids (I would do anything for mine). I'm not a perfect parent, my kids may not turn out perfect (at 4 it a bit early to tell), but I would be one of those 'trying' families if things do go wrong.
I have met the other type of parents a few times though, a friend of mine was married to a girl who was only interested in one thing, the house she would get from being pregnant. She went with him saying she was on the pill, got pregnant and had a child, married him (he wanted to do the right thing), and then mentioned she slept around a lot so the kid most likely wasn't his anyway. Then she wanted the money all to herself so threw him out. Now she on her 3rd kid (all different dads), smokes like a chimney, and spends the child support in the night club each time it comes through. Think they got some 3 bed house and garden now in a nice area, wish I had. Kids little terraways...
Now other people caught out (not planned out) with kids seem to be going the other way, fighting hard to make ends meet, caring about where life takes them, and looking out for their kids. The difficulty is how do you as a professional with so little time tell one from the other?
It is interesting that the media only report on the 'low' income families though, your idea of making parents pay for childcare is an interesting one but I think would be hard to enforce fairly.

I suggest you read my post again, for that is not what I was doing.
If the child is unhappy at school the parent is reponsible for sorting it out.

Absolutely, and if this means the parent has to approach outside assistance then they should be able to do so without being condemned for it.
Social services promote working with parents, it`s not always a matter of social services `picking up the pieces`. Life is not always black and white, especially in today`s society. Families hit problems, be it marraige breakdowns, illness, debt or depression, it can happen to anyone, in all walks of life. Parents need to know that seeking help if they need itis a responsible action on thier part. They shouldn`t be made to feel guilty by those whose lives have taken a direction where they haven`t needed this help. If they are made to feel like failures for seeking this help, then they could end up denying thier child the one thing they need to get back on track, and therein would lay the true crime.
Teachers are 99% committed I agree, which is why for they most part they are also committed to working with the parents if there is a problem, be it either at home or the school they attend six hours a day, making that too, a big part of the childs life. ADHD can be used to cover up simple bad behaviour etc, it can also be a very genuine condition. I think this should be taken into consideration before such blanket judgements are made.
I too am qualified to say this, for I have experianced real life in many of it`s shades. As a result I soon lost the `holier than thou` attitude I carried back in the good old days when life seemed black and white for me.
I would go as far as to say that if you dont know where your 13 year old is and what he or she is doing you are failing not only the child (think of the safety aspect not if he or she can be trusted) but also putting the rest of society at risk from his behaviour

I`m not sure if this was directed at me, for I did state that I like to know what where they are, who they are going to be with, and do ask what they will be doing. I also insist on a decent time home, phonecalls, and bar them from travelling to certain areas. The only difference is that now they are older I do not escort them everywhere, I cannot keep a physical eye on them. It would be a sad state of affairs for my 13 year old if mummy still took her to school on the bus, and now she is travelling to school, I allow her a certain freedom to travel to her friends houses. That is all part of encouraging my daughter to grow into a confident and responsible adult. Although I am not so niave that I don`t think she will (and already has) encounter peer pressure and all the issues that can bring. I prefer to arm her with the knowledge to deal with these encounters. Oh I`m sure she will slip occassionally (didn`t we all?), but that is all a part of growing up. Safety is a worry to every parent, but this can be minimised by teaching your child common sense. It will never be eradicated, but keeping your teen by your side is not going to help them grow either.
She is staying at a friends house tonight. I`m afraid I forgot to arm her so she could go on her rampage! ;)

Gets my vote Corriefem, some good concepts there. Do you think we can start the SH party?
1 Anyone convicted of Murdering a child or any member of the emergency services or causingf death by careless or reckless driving shall be sentenced to life without possibilty of Parole.
2 Any cyclist injured in a road accident where they were partially to blame shall automatically have any damages reduced by 45%
3 All politicians shall retire at 70 or after 20 years in Parliament which ever happens first
4 It shal, be a criminal offence punishable with a term of imprisonment of not less than 5 years to use a long tom camera to take a picture without consent.
5 Anyone who is convixted of an offence of dishonesty or supplying drugs shall automatically forfiet any money in any bank account as being the proceeds of crime unless they can prove where it came from.
Think you find No 5 already happens Stokey...
tallnhairy
I do not believe it happens in every case just in some cases. In most cases of dishonesty it does not happen
I really can't think of 5 things (too busy trying to get ready for work).
I would make Domestic Violence an easier crime to report and receive support for (both for males and females). I'd also make it carry higher penalties for conviction.
Well, what I do is for a major review of the Education System & this would make our nation strong & teach young people how to behave.
I would make it the law for everyone to know how to cook this would save the nation millions if not more due to the current issues of bad eating.
Review of Banks & others that give the public money esp. the issues of Interest & debt.
Cut short the amount of teams in the Premier League & spend money to make people understand the game of Football which will make this nation produce quality football.
Make sure that quality Saturday Night Television returns.
