What are your favorite quotes? One good one, one bad one.
The bad: Richard Nixon "I wasn't lying, I said things I later thought to be untrue"
The good: Lee Trevino "People say I'm a lucky golfer, but you know the more I practice the luckier I get"
The good
Dolly Parton
"when I was young we were so poor we couldn't afford a bath, just a lil old tub of warm water, some soap and a cloth.
You'd wear a night shirt and wash up as far as possible, then wash down as far as possible, then everyone else would leave the room, and you'd wash possible"
The bad
Dolly Parton again
"It takes a lot of money to look this cheap"
i only have one............
Lifes a bitch n then ya die !!!
My current fave :
"If you always do what you've always done - you'll always get what you always got."
If everyone really thought hard about this the divorce rate would rocket. :giggle:

Or maybe we already thought about it and were happy with what we've always got wink
Bad quote - To say of what is that it is not, or of what is not that it is, is false, while to say of what is that it is, and of what is not that it is not, is true.

sent

If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best ~ Marilyn Monroe
Good
"Lest we forget"
Bad
"When in Rome"
Bad 'there is no such thing as society'...yes I know it's a misquote/paraphrasing of the old bitch, but I don't care
Good...'fellas'...'yeah'....'for gods sake burn it down' Dexys midnight Runners (Kevin Rowland) got that one bit wrong too (I should've checked before posting rather than after) but let it stand

Mmmmm me too. I haven't seen them for ages. I think the purists would shudder at the idea of you referring to Caramac as chocolate though :giggle:
Bad (This was said to me by an old boy on a pheasant shoot many moons ago, best said in a Dorset accent)
"A woman, a dog, and a walnut tree, the harder you beat them the better they be"
Good (Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965), Sorry two of these by the same person
Bessie Braddock: "Sir, you are drunk."
Churchill: "Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober."
Nancy Astor: "Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison."
Churchill: "If I were your husband I would take it."
:laughabove:
As this thread was inspired by a Lee Trevino quote here are a few of his others that I like.
My wife does not mind where I go or what I do as long as I dont have fun.
You can make a lot of money playing this game. Ask both my ex wives, they are both so wealthy neither of their husbands work.
My two favourite quotes are
You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be lead: Stan Laurel
Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana: Groucho Marx
I never said they made any sense dunno
