who are your favorite singers? you know the ones that really make the hairs stand up on end and touch your soul. or make you jump about like a lunatic lol

not sure if this counts........ but the guitar playing of steve vai does it for me everytime... the first time I heard 'For The Love of God' i literally cried, but if i must pick a vocalist then i guess Axl Rose, much as he is an egoncentrical prat, his voice is amazing.

Eva Cassidy... strangely I don't own a single recording of hers. Better get that sorted out pronto.
Ted Hawkins, not an overly well known American Blues singer, who used to live and busk in the area I now live in before he was deported back to America, sadly this was before I moved here.
Marlene Dietrich singing in German. Fantastic.
( even weirder, all 3 of them are now dead....)

im with you on eva casidy postie beautiful voice. somewhere over the rainbow is one of my favorite songs and eva did it well. also done expertly by ray charles ( always makes me cry) and by tori amos .

Another :thumbup: for Kirsty McColl great voice. Both Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie from the latter day Fleetwood Mac. Male voices would have to Van Morrison or Richard Thompson.

Aretha! nothing can liven you up lik ethat womans voice!
Tom Jones - Sorry, but he just has a voice that would shake a mountain.
Teddy Prendergast - Put one of his albums on for a long session under the sheets
and Sam Brown - Especially singing "Stop". (perhaps it is because I lost my virginity to that song....shortly followed by "God has a sick sense of humour" by Depeche Mode. lol

6. Chris Martin ( coldplay ) LIVE
7. Eva Cassidy.
8. Chris Rea Tell Me There's A Heaven
9. Stevie Nicks either her Fleetwood Mac work or her solo work
10. Micheal Crawford singing Music Of The Night ( Phantom Of The Opera the album).

i know not the name, but the girl who sings for 'lamb' has the most angelic voice. if any one wants to sample it check out a tune called 'my angel gabriel'
