for me it has to be...
billy corgan, smashing pumpkins. ooh his voice
chris cornell, soundgarden. ooh his voice .
louise rhodes, lamb. ooh her voice.
roisin murphy, moloko. ooh her voice.
james maynard keenan, tool. ooh his voice
x rache x
The late Joe Strummer
Matt
not sure if this counts........ but the guitar playing of steve vai does it for me everytime... the first time I heard 'For The Love of God' i literally cried, but if i must pick a vocalist then i guess Axl Rose, much as he is an egoncentrical prat, his voice is amazing.
redface surprisedops:
Jon Bon Jovi
sorry for that confused
Agree - Axl Rose has a fab. voice.
Oooooooooo Maia, I'm with you on Jon Bon Jovi too redface

yeah... it was the tight cycling shorts he used to wear. I think he was the only man who could be forgiven for wearing them.
Eva Cassidy... strangely I don't own a single recording of hers. Better get that sorted out pronto.
Ted Hawkins, not an overly well known American Blues singer, who used to live and busk in the area I now live in before he was deported back to America, sadly this was before I moved here.
Marlene Dietrich singing in German. Fantastic.
( even weirder, all 3 of them are now dead....)
hi
Morrissey.............
Richard Ashcroft..........
David Gray..........

Oh yes  wink
Another  for Kirsty McColl great voice. Both Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie from the latter day Fleetwood Mac. Male voices would have to Van Morrison or Richard Thompson.
Sinnead O`Conner, she sings a song on Moby`s album 18, called Harbour,,WOW!
Thom York of Radiohead too!
I like so much different music, but I think the voice that effects me the most and gives me goosebumps of emotion and sadness is Karen Carpenter. Tragic and beautiful.
Well for me:
Aretha! nothing can liven you up lik ethat womans voice!
Tom Jones - Sorry, but he just has a voice that would shake a mountain.
Teddy Prendergast - Put one of his albums on for a long session under the sheets
and Sam Brown - Especially singing "Stop". (perhaps it is because I lost my virginity to that song....shortly followed by "God has a sick sense of humour" by Depeche Mode. lol )
Well for me it has to be:
1. Freddie Mercury, singing love of my life, live
2. Bonnie Raitt a little known country & western come blues come rock singer.
3. Bono.
4. Eric Clapton singing Tears In Heaven unplugged or anything live
5. Elton John singing My Elusive Drug & All That I'am Allowed LIVE
6. Chris Martin ( coldplay ) LIVE
7. Eva Cassidy.
8. Chris Rea Tell Me There's A Heaven
9. Stevie Nicks either her Fleetwood Mac work or her solo work
10. Micheal Crawford singing Music Of The Night ( Phantom Of The Opera the album).
I can think of a lot more as i sooooooo love my music but those are the ones that come straight to mind at this moment in time redface .
Rachel this is a great idea for a post kiss
Chris Rea
i know i`ll get my coat loon
Gundula Janowitz
60's opera singer. She sang Cosi Fan tutte in The Shawshank Redemption.
A bit off beat, but she really got her gazongas round Porgi Amor by Mozart.
Madonna is my all time favourite everything, however I also like Eva Cassidy, Nancy Griffiths, Elton John, Darren Hayes from Savage Garden and would have to agree with Bon Jovi too.
The all time sexiest voice ever is Alanah Myles singing Black Velvet!
mariah carey for umpteen different reasons lol
Damien riceand bono
i know not the name, but the girl who sings for 'lamb' has the most angelic voice. if any one wants to sample it check out a tune called 'my angel gabriel'
another would be (again the name is unknown) the singer with the sundays.
