And another weekend shot to hell for TKH and Heather. And by the look of it for the other ten or so Swingin Heaven types we saw there - not only the usual suspects but also regulars whose less well known pelasures and preferences got an airing.

We didn`t watch much of the show as we didn`t get there quick enough to grab a seat, and I was too damn short to compete (I felt for the people in the wheelchairs who others stood in front of), besides there were too many sideshows to check out! :twisted: We didn`t get to try as many rooms as we`d have liked as by the time we were ready to dive in, everyone else had the same idea and the rooms were packed, but we did try the couples room, and yes, the musician presence was pretty bizaare. Kent Host, Heather, I would have said hi again, but I didn`t spot you until I was otherwise occupied, by which time it didn`t seem to be the right moment to say hello! I did speak to the poor guy who was watching, and then begging the steward to be allowed in! :twisted:
The dark room would have been fun I suspect, but was one of the rooms which was packed, as was the couples dome with the mirrors. Mars didn`t want to take his boots off for the Naked lounge!
Sad cow that I am, I loved the porn flicks, in particular the gay porn, but could have quite happily throttled the crowd of people who almost instinctively stood right in front of the telly during the really good bits! As for the Art exhibition......erm, was that it?!
As the fun rooms were a little innundated toward the end, and Mars found the presence of all the singles guys hovering a little intimidating, we finished the night doing what we normally do.................clubbing! There was some pretty decent tunes toward the end! :mrgreen:
It was a good night, and we will go again next year, and seeing as my costume became less and less as the night progressed, I may take this into consideration when making my next! Mars lost his hat, and me my gloves, I managed to retrieve the rest.
Must have been wearing the country bumkin sign across our foreheads when we left. Used to not being able to get a taxi when we leave a club, we were gratified (very briefly) to be immediately escorted to a waiting car. The guy, who could barely speak english, claimed he didn`t know of The Tate Modern (yeah right) and I could see we were going to get severely fleeced when after some debate he said `yes I know the place, it`s quite distance from here`, I think if I hadn`t have been firm we would have been taken on a magical mystery tour to the original Tate. Anyway, I left the cab, Mars took the hint and also left, at which point we were haranged by the driver who still followed us to `determine` where we wanted to go. He stopped other `cab` drivers, seeming to ask directions, who then blocked the road, having some kind of bizaare argument as to who was going to fleece us next. I stood at the wall, watching Mars being sucked into this ludicrous crowd, and persuaded him to bolt, with three drivers trying to get us in the cars, and the original guy telling us not to listen cos they were black guys (or something to that effect)
So apologies to anyone who had problems leaving due to the road block and street argument.....that would have been our fault
We strolled the early hours through London back to the car, which even though we managed to park for free (and legally) in a side street, still had all four wheels. It would have been the perfect opportunity to do the Flash for Swinging Heaven, but dipshit here forgot the camera!
Um, that about sums up our night, although I`m sure to remember other highlights.

Fantastic night for sexual play, but I found it frustrating for the first half, the awards shows were partly exciting partly boring, too uneven, and held up the playing, too much space to wander in, starting to feel 'nothing is happening' except for the 'friendly' people shaking fundrasing cans... But all that was forgotten after about 1 am, and everything fell into place. Good design overall, thoughtful touches, exciting people to play with, lots to see. Dawn and I travelled down to London on Saturday Morning only to find that the tube line we needed to reach our hotel wasn't working. How do you break a train? (no need to answer that one). Found a cheap cafe and pub on Tower Bridge Road to while the hours away until it was time to head off to the SMB. We even managed to spend a couple of hours in Soho. Although a hint to anyone jumping into a London taxi and asking to be taken to a porn shop. In London they also have PAWN shops. But they aint quite the same LOL. Dawn soon had the taxi driver blushing when she described the type of shop she wanted to take us to.
With our friends who flew in especially from Northern Irleand "we" decided that our outfits were not becoming of the 10 minute walk to the club. Taxi fleecing number one!. I’m sure it took longer to pay for the ride than the journey itself, but at least we were there in one piece.
We walked into the club and while waiting to get processed we bumped into Stuart and Tanina, Debs UK, Cov38154 and others. Off to a good start, we knew people.
We went round the club a couple of times to find our bearings and to wait for the awards ceremony to start. Unfortunately, there were sooo many people watching the awards that the temperature in the main room was stifling. When you are wearing PVC and you begin sticking to yourself you know its time to find somewhere cooler.
I totally agree with the previous comments about the tin shakers. The serious lack of chairs and the cost of the drinks. I know we were warned, but 'kin ell!. As for the toilet attendants. I thought they were doing it for free cos that was their "thing".
One great thing about the ball is that there were so many totally different things going on in the different rooms that there was always something to watch. Maximum respect to all those who lost their outfits by the end of the night. Some however lost them earlier than others. The mirrored couples dome, fantastic. The BDSM displays, eye opening. The dungeon. Sorry the jury is still out on this one!
On leaving the club we were as others greeted by our taxi driver who somehow managed to get the four of us into the car before we knew what he had actually done. I was in the front and quickly looked around for a meter, or a badge to prove he was a real taxi driver. Nothing visible. Now we knew were the hotel was, we could almost see it from the club. Maybe he thought we wanted to go site seeing in the middle of the night. Maybe we had the same driver cos our’s could hardly speak English either. Eventually he listened to me when I told him that we knew where the hotel was and it wasn’t in the direction he was taking us. At the hotel he tried to charge us for the magical mystery tour. When we said no (I believe the word was no), all he would say was "ok, I take you back to the club, we work with the bouncers, they will decide how much you pay". On that we gave him as many coins as we possibly could (less than he asked for) and ran into the hotel.

Took a friend round Camden Market first, heck she was like a kid in a sweet shop was hard to get her away. Most of the fetish shops had sales on too.....mmmmmm spent far to much, bread and water for the next month now (least I can eat it dressed up to the nines lol).

Hi to all we met therexxx it was great to see the costumes and the effort that everyone had put into it, we really enjoyed the social side of us all chatting and having a laugh. I have to say though, the cost of entry was debatable, perhaps the quality of the ticket gave the expectation of a different set up- who knows. As for being dressed as Neo from the Matrix the costume was going to be warm at the best of times, this was obviously not helped by the lack of air conditioning and a packed venue. Mrs Cov was dressed more conveniently for the occasion, but a butt skirt and bra was not my scene to wear..lol..xxx. Sorry to anyone we didnt get round to saying our goodbyes too, we had to retire shortly after 1pm as the heat and lack of oxygen finished me Looking forward to the next opportunity to meet...xxx
