This is the thing that makes my partner really nervous...she woudl love to go to a party with me, has chatted on forums, even had a mff with a friend of ours and great it was too.
Trouble is she reads these articles and posts and it puts her right off any sort of organised event.
"Couples only" (but single guys seem to be there)...and although we have had good feedback as well as negative feedback about various places (Radlett is our nearest venue), one bad report we had on the very day we planned to attend...doh...puts her (and if I'm honest me) off attending..
I know there can never be any guarantees but surely there must be at least one local (to Stansted / Harlow / Herts / Essex) party venue that isn't a pot luck place where we can reduce the risk of having an offputting never bother again experience with the predatory single males...??
All we are looking for is the opportunity to go out,with no pressures, no stalkers and either play OR NOT without feeling uncomfortable and the "newcomers made to feel very welcome - ideal for newbies - no means no" doesn't seem to ring true...
Any advice anyone...?

Altrincham...I used to go there years ago before I moved darn Sarf....
Saturday mornings, sad music, kids who coudl always skate better than me and those nasty red white and blue hire skates...yeugh...!
Great fun as a kid though....perhaps I should head for this one and drag my lady along...(although probably me being dragged...!

I know you're not gonna give out specifics here but we live in HArlow, Essex...
Whereabouts do you hold your parties (the town would do), just to see if we are near enought to travel if we are both lucky to get an invite...??

Couint Sal and I in if possible - two new faces but frustrated with the lack of stuff going on locally - or maybe we're not reading hte rightpages..
Anyway,

36 and 39, both blonde and err...yep keen as newbies so be gentle as we were going to Radlett at the end of Feb, couldn't make it as we had to work late...and so glad we didn't after the write up on the website....aaggghh...
So, bit nervous after that...
