Is that the episode that featured the swinging holiday in France? I hope you were the nicer couples. Me and my g/f watched it and came to the conclusion that that the bloke out of that horrible couple was Max Hardcore's long lost brother. He had that same evil look in his eye.
It's people like that that put us off swinging to be honest. Shame.

lol @ nicer couple.... we were the couple who the new couple swung with if that helps?
Hi All
Just had a call from , the guys behind the Real Wife Swaps documentary that we featured in . For those that missed it, the whole 3 parts are going to be shown again during July, ours being the 3rd one, on the 27th @ 11pm on channel 5, so we're guessing that the other 2 parts will be on the previous 2 wednesdays.
I must say, we thought it courteous of them to call us to let us know it was going to be on again...

Anybody who appears in public to 'promote' or 'explain' swinging is in my view liable to be doing swinging a disservice. This is partly due to the media's penchant for exploiting easy targets but also due to the intrinsic nature of swinging, which is something that should come from within and not be suggested from outside. You know in your heart if it is right for you or not - so why do you need someone on the telly to tell you??

You are quite probably right, but one of the great things about this less-than-great country we live in is that we mere mortals have CHOICE. We never set out to "promote" nor "explain" swinging, basically we said, look, this is what WE do, if you want to try it, there are opportunities out there, if you don't that's also fine...
We have been on tv a couple of times, in newspapers and have written for a number of womens magazines too, we never set out to "convert" anyone, just basically to let people know that there are lifestyle choices out there and that we have made ours. Ok, it suits us now, it might not in 5 or 10yrs time, but for now, and as we say to people who ask us why we do what we do, "we are here for a GOOD time, not a LONG time!"

Hi
Yeah, we were the same people who were on Real Wife Swaps... We were asked to go on Trisha to try and present a balanced view on swinging.... Not sure on everyones take on it, but we found that it werent as bad as it could have been

While it is a fact of life that people have sex and that we should be open and honest with our kids about it, I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing swinging and other more 'kinky' (sorry not the right word) types of sex.

We have to agree with this. We have children, 7 & 8 years old and we wouldnt like to think that they were hanging around while we had a swinging party, or listening to a conversation about are part-time parents which means that we have time for our children and also free time in which to swing, call it the best of both worlds. We aren't saying that people who have children full-time shouldnt swing, all we are saying is that discretion is most certainly needed and, like the most of the people who have posted, want to protect our children from it until it becomes necessary for us to discuss it with them. Our children know we have friends, but that is ALL that they know and we intend to keep it that way until they are a lot older than they are now
Hope we dont sound too "up ourselves" but this is something that we feel strongly about

Hiyas All!
We read this post with particular interest, we were one of the 3 couples who went out to Peyraille on the documentary. One of the biggest things that annoyed us, was the "typical Brits lounging by the pool drinking beer" comment. Yes, we are British, all 6 of us, but to us, as swingers, socialising over an alcoholic beverage is an important part of swinging. Ok, some of you don't want to know names, even speak to each other before you get your kits off and down to it, which is fair enough, but we felt more at ease and more inclined to swing after we had gotten to know each other.
We have always lived by the "live and let live" rule. Yes, we understand that certain rules have to be in place to run an establishment such as the swinging hotel we visited, but, personally, and i dont know about the rest of you, but we thought the "No Sex by the pool" lark was a bit over the top. Now, if the reason was as Peter stated, that it was because of tractors pulling up and down the fields close by, then surely the answer would have been to plant a few trees around to obstruct the view......???? Then everyone could shag around the pool as much as they wanted..... its not rocket science!
Another reason for the "no sex in public" , despite this being a swinging hotel, is that Peter and Manuela have a 10 year old son, who, while we were lounging around the pool and drinking beer was riding his bike around the courtyard.... I wouldnt say a swinging hotel is the perfect environment for a young impressionable boy to be growing up in. None of us felt comfortable about this, and when it was raised with Peter and Manuela, all they could say was "so you're saying that we are bad parents?" ... I just think these people should have perhaps waited until their son was a bit older (like 18+) until they ventured into something like this....
We are regular members of La Chambre in Sheffield, and we felt that if this swinging hotel had been run by Barry & Marie (the owners of L.C) then the whole experience would have been totally different for all of us. Just to add, Barry and Marie run a very successful swinging club, the list of rules is easily read in 2 minutes, not half an hour like it took us to read Peter's book of rules......
Just a message to Peter...... You are likely to win more friends with honey, not vinegar..... Stop attacking the British, you did it when we were in France and you're doing it again in this post. There's no bloody wonder people formed the opinion of you that they did on TV. Fantasy land..... I think not..... What the viewers saw was pretty much as it was..... Personally, we havent had any sniggering about what we have done. Ok, some people have stopped us in the street, said it wasnt for them, but admired us for getting up there and standing by something we believe in.

We received this email this morning and thought we would post it...
Dear Donna and Rich,
Good to speak the other night and glad you were happy with the programmes. It's always great to hear that people like the programmes in which they appear.
Would be very grateful if you could get the word out there that we are looking to make another 'Real Wife Swaps' film and that we are looking for swinging couples to appear in it.
As discussed, we are particularly keen to film with virgin or newly swinging couples who are happy to share the lead up to and then a swinging experience (similar to the film you were in); probably at a party and maybe overseas. I'm interested to get to the heart of why couples have decided to try swinging and how they have negotiated it with their partners - and to see what happens when they try it. Keen to escape swinging stereotypes too, so the less likely the couples are to swing the better!
As you know from experience, the documentary would be upbeat but sensitive, intimate and warm in tone, just like the other three films in the series.
Would be great if you could forward this email and pass the word round. I'd love speak to couples who may be interested to find out more.
Thanks very much - and hope you hen & stag parties go well!
Best wishes,
Jessica

to us the first two episodes where brilliant but this one seemed set up,
three couples all agreeing to be filmed and all from a different spectrum,
the old hands, slightly scary to us newbies
the intelligent caring couple (well done u 2)
then the virgins.
Statistically this seemed a bit planned
The general outcome is we`ve never felt so "normal" lol

Hiya again..
Had to reply to this one. Am trying to think exactly what i want to say here. It was staged somewhat, not by us at all, but by the tv crew, only though, insofar as the couples that went away. We were all interviewed prior to going to France, prior to even getting on film, as were a lot of other couples. As with any tv show, there had to be a theme. We were all chosenfor the documentary for whatever reasons, none of which became apparent until we actually arrived in France. We knew nothing about any of the other couples, hadnt seen photographs, or anything. We were only told that there would be 3 couples going. We didnt stage anything at all, none of us, around 40 hours of filming was done which was then condensed down to 49 minutes or so, taking out the commercial breaks.
It could have been a total disaster, im still not 100% sure on Tim & Michelle's final view of the holiday, but we enjoyed ourselves, we made some great friends. Ok, we wouldnt go back there, but you know our reasons for that, you've only got to look at the rule book! lol There are a few things we might have done differently, but its very easy to say that in hindsight, wouldnt you agree?
For all of you that are curious, we didnt wait until the last day before we got it together, we were actually swapping by wednesday night, but we said it was Gill & Craig's call, with them being the newbies, as to whether they wanted to tell the cameras the next morning. They chose not to, and we respected that, right up until the last day, when we DID tell the cameras, but they couldnt really add that bit, because it would have made them look bad.
We do hope that people got the right impression of what swinging is about, it's fun, its a laugh, its a way of making great friends, and ultimately, its recreational sex with likeminded people

I'm sure I recognised Donna..... not sure where from. Partners maybe?

We've never been to Partners, though we do frequent La Chambre on a regular basis, so perhaps it was there?

Hiya you guys!
We just got back from a night out! Your general consensus on the host was absolutely right, he was somewhat of a sargeant major who liked his "rules, rules, rules!" We had a good time out there, considering the situation. Craig and Gill were new but we had a lot of fun with them. Tim and Michelle were also good fun, although (I'm too hairy! lol) but we have met up with them all since and had a good telephone conversation with them tonight. Must admit, since then have been completely shaven.... except of course the chest.... But, In my opinion, "What you see is what you get!" We are unpretentious, we dont try to be anything we are not, we like what we do.... If someone we like enjoys doing what we do with us, fine.... if they aren't interested, thats also fine. We dont force our views on anyone, ok, we're smokers, as are a sizeable proportion of the swinging community, but we will swing with smokers and non-smokers, we don't judge as we don't expect to be judged!
Tim n Michelle, Craig n Gill are great people, the documentary may have painted them in different lights, but we know them as people, beyond the cameras and the voice-overs and we are more than happy to say that we came away from Peyraille ( Bootcamp Morey- Weale) as "FRIENDS!" and to us, we would rather leave a situation as friends than any other way!

They must have filmed the stuff in La Chambre when the club was closed as it seemed unusually empty and when the older couple were leaving, it was daylight.

Whenever anything like TV or press go to the club, they have to film outside of opening hours and inform everyone that the cameras will be there and get their consent to be filmed, normally in the form of a disclaimer, hence several of the guests on the first episode being blurred out, as obviously they didnt want to be filmed. Imagine trying to film in L.C on a busy saturday night, i would say 95% of the folk there wouldnt want to be seen on TV.
I do respect the fact that this production company has respected everyones right to privacy and only filmed those that were willing to be seen on national television and not those that weren't. At the very least, people can go to La Chambre and know that when they walk in there that they aren't going to be met by TV cameras and show up on Channel 5 or any other TV channel

Hiyas all again!
Couldnt agree more about the social aspect of swinging, which, when you watch next thursdays episode im sure you will see. Watch for the hoteliers "typical brits" comment about us sitting by the pool drinking beer.... Ummmmm, we all thought we were socialising... but hey!!
Anyone thinking of going there.... Well, like i said in my previous post, its a nice place, but a few changes could do with being madeits a 19th century french farm house, not totally finished, surrounded by the odd cement mixer and piles of rubbish, close your eyes as you drive up the driveway!!
Anyway, could sit and ramble on. We DID have a good time and there were more highs than lows, but like any holiday, its what you make it!
Here's what the TV guide says about next weeks third and final episode

22:30 Real Wife Swaps
Three couples enjoy a break at a swinging resort in the Pyrenees, but conflicts between each other and their genial hosts may disrupt the promised sexual shenanigans. Last in series
Hi all
Stumbled on this forum by accident and boy we're glad we did. We were involved with the Real Wife Swaps documentary, due to be screened 2nd September, 10:30 channel 5. Landmark films took us and two other couples to Peyraille,a swinging hotel in the Pyrenees region of France. The holiday was great and we made some great friends in the two other couples that went out there with us. We did have a few gripes with the hotelier though, and as you will see in the film, he runs the place somewhat like a bootcamp (look at the size of his rule book!!!). Our attitude was that we went out there for fun and to relax and anything else that happened was a bonus, the last thing we wanted was a bible of rules!!. We did end up, as you will see, swinging with one of the couples, who were complete novices and have stayed in touch and swung with them since.
We did all agree, on departing, that the place was great, the food was good but it required different management, someone who was more interested in swinging than money making, that would have made the holiday perfect for us. We didnt mind the cameras following us around, hey, it was a free holiday, and a small price to pay!
