I am a Yankee Navy veteran; and what could be called an "old salt." In 1982, I was a member of a fighter squadron, attached to an airwing onboard a carrier. We anchored off Portsmouth and were launched to shore. I then boarded a train to London where I checked into the Regent Palace Hotel.
