Went to 2X" last year, which was OK, but rather "tame" for our taste. might try some other venues this year.

Like you love Fuerteventura, although we are off to GC this summer just for a change. Much prefer the north of the Island , but matter of personal taste.
If you get the chance try and find Playa Los Agucjas Spelling?. AKA Steps its beach, its about 2km south of El Cotillio, only accessible by car, but my favourite beach on the island

Difficult this, depends on what you are looking for, but couple of ideas:
Volupe: its a "supper club" which does burlesque, food is good but not great, but you will need to book in advance especially at Xmas.
Les Trois Garcon: not sexy but very classy and romantic.
Ad Fab usually have a decent couple of Xmas parties but its a treck from town.

I would suggest that this is something you need to try first before buying, they are not cheap (a decent one will cost you north of £300) and they are not for everyone, and they are not the simplest thing to use.
In all honesty they are not that painful, its more of a tingling sensation than sharp pain, I suspect a lot of the impact is mental, given the sparks, etc.

We have been to the last three years, not sure if we will go this year due to other commitments .
We've always had a good time at the show itself, but as some other people have said last year's event was somewhat smaller than 2009 and 2008, which we put down to the economic climate. Looking at the list of exhibitors for this year looks about the same size as last year.
For us its a good day out and the chance to pick up various interesting "bits of kit", but ore than anything else its chance to dress up and wonder around in a public environment is some pretty OTT gear. last year for example I had Slave L handcuffed and gagged for the whole time we were there. As public play is one of our things it was really hot.
But in reality its just a shopping venue
