Hi bigtitsnbum, it's good to hear that you are having such enjoyable experiences. However, there is one heck of a lot of stereotyping in your post!
My favourite play today:
Jay & the Americans: Sunday And Me
Fresh Meat? Yes, great TV series wasn't it. I hear there's a new series starting on 9th October on Channel 4. And you can still see all the episodes from the last series on 4oD.
Welcome to the site, I hope you have fun here.
Love's Labour's Lost in Translation
Watching Juno for the second time, on Film 4 ...what a brilliant film!
Karine Polwart: We're All Leaving
...and the rest of her new album "Traces".
I reckon we can allow titles from TV programmes as well - so:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Allo Allo
also:
Twelfth Nightmare on Elm Street
No Country For Old Men In Black
I thought this would be a fun thread to revive and see if there are any fresh ideas: - I think it's self explanatory. I'll start off, or rather re-start:
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy Who Loved Me
The Iron Lady Vanishes
Sometimes I dream of a reverse SH, where loads of single women compete for a much smaller number of single men.
I'm right handed, but with exceptions: I have more strength in my left arm, and from earliest days have batted left-handed in cricket but bowl and throw right handed, and I also play tennis left-handed. I can play table tennis with either hand, and sometimes swap over in mid-game - I'm mostly crap at it whichever hand I use though.
Just seen this interesting thread that I never spotted before, which might be interesting to revive.
Answer to the OP's question is no, not really, I'm on the fringe of things here. There were one or two members in the past I regarded as friends for a period of time, but they are no longer around here.
When leading politicians of any of the main parties have landed in the erm..excrement like this one has, a lot depends on whether they have allies among the other politicians. Andrew Mitchell does not seem to be fondly thought of by most of his colleagues, and some columnists who are usually sympathetic to the Tories and their policies have turned against him in the last day or two, e.g. Janet Daley of the Daily Telegraph. And that interview he gave outside in the rain the other morning did not seem to be very well organised or crafted as the usual defensive interviews, possibly because he did not have the full backing of the spin team. Those of us who watch and enjoy "The Thick Of It" know how the publicity people in the background can be very fickle and decide to back or not back a minister on very flimsy whimsical grounds at times. So this man is still in the mire at the moment, and rightly or wrongly, more because of his personality than his politics.
I made a will about seven years ago, and it's pretty straightforward.
It's worth mentioning that if anyone wants to bequeath particular items to individuals, it can be advisable to give them to the person BEFORE you die. If the person who has immediate access to the dead person's property when they die is not reliable, it can be very difficult to enforce them legally to hand over items they appropriate for themselves. This happened in my family back some years ago, and is also a problem covered in a best-selling novel published recently (The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes). Well worth reading, by the way.
