There is some controversy about using the BMI as a means of determining ideal weight...

It does not take into account, muscle mass, age or bodyfat %.
A much better way of looking at it is a combination of height, weight, body fat and lean muscle mass...

Right, that's it! I've just eaten the last of the naughty food in the house - no more cherry crumbles for the foreseeable future!
Roll on tomorrow and good luck one and all

Serendipity (lovely name, swore if I ever bought a new boat, I would call it that)
just picked up on this thread...I had the missfortune to be in central London the other day and drove through the Zone...I have heard since that you have to pay on the day, or face a penalty charge....How true is this?
You also say they have suspended the charge over Christmas. From when to when?

Hi there,
Unfortunately, you do have to pay the charge on the day or in advance. If you have been caught on one of the cameras (a highly likely event) you may find a penalty notice arriving on your doorstep in the not too distant future (Happy Christmas).
As for the suspension of the charge over the christmas break - as far as I am aware it is suspended from next wednesday (it is never applied on bank holidays) until that Friday (31st Dec). Normal charging will recommence on Tues 4th Jan.

Down here in London we have a congestion charge to go into central London which at the moment is it is doing so well they have decided to raise that to and increase the area that it covers, making millions for the company that runs wondering if their are any other citys or towns that will be following this and setting up their own congestion zones?

Its about time black cabs were charged for it too, after all most are going into Central London for work purposes so why the hell are they excempt! rolleyes
I didn't think they were? the cabbies all moan about it enough!
Nope they dont have to pay it
IMHO The whole reason for the congestion charge is to reduce the amount of private traffic in town and promote the use of public transport. As taxis are classed as public transport they are exempt from the fee. If a taxi takes even 5 fares a day from people who would normally have driven into town, then thats 5 less cars on the road. Multiply this by the number of black cabs there are and you can see how beneficial it all is. If you started to charge cabs the fee, many would protest by refusing to drive in the congestion zone and more people would return to their cars.
