Further to our posts we are pleased to say our "every little bit helps" credit card massively helped us by refunding the scam money.

FYI this happened when a friend opened and email which he thought was a renewal of his BT internet subscription. Having done that the fraudsters were able to access his computer and his address book to send their cunning email pleading for help to all his friends in his email contacts, so please be aware of such a BT renewal fake email.

IF you receive an email from a friend asking you to help them by buying some John Lewis gift cards for a relative of theirs who was suffering Liver cancer because their phone is out of action then don't reply to it !!! We did and have lost £1000 having been very cleverly scammed.
