Compliments & holding doors open seem natural to me although some may find this odd: I'm not a doormat.
The last time I wore a suit to go out socially I was ridiculed (by a woman) for being uptight; I wore it because I felt good in it & told her so.
Times and behaviours have changed but I prefer to act courteously so that I am treated couteously in social and swinging situations.

You can avoid all the mess by containing both participants and the custard inside a large moisture-proof bag. Said bags are available from builders merchants. I would recommend that both people leave their heads outside the bag to facilitate breathing: imagine the inquest...
