I lived in Rome and other bits of Italy for many years. The favoured way of eating spinach is to rinse, steam, chill in fridge, then serve with lemon juice and olive oil.
Never mind the taste (which is delicious): I defy anyone to not figure out what that texture reminds them of.

Not quite feeling as erudite and urbane as you lot obviously are (or as insane?). Still digesting the good advice and abstract humour and feeling like I have arrived at a party and don't know whether I should try and join in?????
