In all seriousness, I am a daily lurker on the cafe and have been tempted to join in many times. My reason for not doing so? I have to say that I have found the attitude of a couple of long time forummmers to be at times aggressive and patronising especially to new folks. I am not myself upset by this behaviour and could well hold my own but I see the same people, time and time again, behave in that manner and no-one (by which I mean their long term forum pals) challenges them.
Maybe its not so obvious to those of you already here (or perhaps it is but you choose to ignore it)but I see it clearly from the outside.
Work at it from the inside you might say, and yes, I could do, and was preparing to be an active particpant but now I don't feel inclined to.. and that is my prerogative.
BTW, for Varca's benefit, she is not one of these individuals and I have no gripe with her apart from the listing the names. I understand her intent and have no problem with that.
PS: Yes, I got the message from Varca, accepted wholeheartedly

I am one of those lurkers originally named and immediately on seeing my name on the thread I changed my forum status to invisible again(I had been invisible, was about to jump in so made myself visible).
Like Dawnie and others said, I was mortified. I will continue to lurk and check forum daily but it is now highly unlikely I'll join in the posting

I was interested to read all the posts about this because it's something I've had a lot of involvement in recently. I work in HR and one of the things we have had to do is to take note of the new age discrimination law which came into force in October this year.
As far as working arrangements are concerned employees now have the statutory right to request working beyond the statutory retirement age and we
might be of interest to some.
Outside work, I guess you're only as old as you feel!]

This is a topical question for me. I registered as a single female and very much continue to be so. However, since joining, I have met up with another member, a single male, for friendship and regular sex.
While we want to retain our independence and play as singles when the mood takes us, we also realise we get on well together as a couple and have great sex. As part of our swinging experience, we want to experiment with couples, maybe threesomes etc.
We don't want to list ourselves as a couple as that limits our options for singles playing yet it doesn't feel right contacting couples who seek couples when we have a single identity even though we explain ourselves in the messages. It's very confusing.
We had toyed with the idea of also registering as a couple but realised that it might well be against the T's & C's to have multiple user accounts
We'd love to be able to switch our status as the need arises.
