Des_n_anne,
i've sent you a message, maybe meet up, if you like...!!!
hi BWM,
not sure whether you managed to sort your monitor problem.., but have a few ideas!
The problem sounds like a loose connection, particularly as the picture is getting worse, the vibration of the pc fan could cause this, or if you'd recently moved the pc...
1. check that the connections on the back of the monitor are tight, typically there should be 2 (1 for power, 1 for video). on the video connection plug there are a couple of screws, they should be tightened into the socket.
2. On the back of your pc, there's the other end of video cable, make sure that the plug is also secure, and the screws tightened.
3. Is to check that the video card inside the pc is seated securely in it's slot (would mean checking inside the pc case).
4. Have you placed anything in close proximity to the monitor, speakers for instance? (This is unlikely as it'd only affect the edges, would be caused by unshielded magentics).
Hope this helps, if not already sorted. I tried so hard to leave out the double entendre's, clearly failed    , amazing how many sexually references make up a pc...!!!
