Helping out with conference in Coventry this weekend.
Not needed between about 10am and 6pm
Any ideas, folks?
Particularly interested in meeting up with any ladies or couples...

I use "babe", quite a bit (for girls of course!) wink
And "darlin'", "my love", "my dear".
"mate" for us guys.
Hear Hear Alex
Very rarely watch the box anymore. Too busy, and most of it's crap. Realised that when we had a power cut near the end of a prog I was watching a couple of years ago, and I didn't care. I feel the same about most programmes. Occasionally there's a good flick on, but really can't be bothered.
As for "Reality TV"...
The only one that I enjoyed at all was Castaway.
Oh, and that stuff about Captain Pugwash is all nonsense. 'Twould be wonderful if 'twere true, but I'm going to have to disappoint you - it's an urban myth.
See
Victor Lewis-Smith partially responsible for this, I believe.
Aaah, now you're talking - this one's guaranteed to make us all contribute!
Blue - you're referring to Pipkins ("it's Time...tick tick tick... for a story")
Play School, with Fred Harris, Floella Benjamin etc
Playaway with Brian Cant
Fingerbobs
Some silly cartoon about Noah, with a 2 headed ark
Bagpuss, of course
Trumpton, Camberwick Green
Babapapa (fantastic!)
Barnaby the Bear('s my name, never call me Jack or James...)
G-Force ("five fearless young orphans...")
Of course, the Clangers
Grange Hill (remember Zammo - "just say No!")
Briefly, the Famous Five (terrible BBC series, shortlived thankfully, still remember the theme tune vividly "We are the famous five...")
I lived in Ireland between the ages of 6 and 14, and my mum was terrified of coming to England for fear of my school being like Grange Hill. You should see the place I teach now! wink
Ok, here goes...
Just to let y'all know that if you ever need a band or other ensemble for a party/function/wedding, let me know, as I play in several very good ones (jazz quintet, disco band, function band) and can provide string quartets etc too. Thought this might be the sort of forum where people might have more parties than most! wink
PM me if you need any details.
er... blue... the avatar is Hugh Grant smile
Chosen because, apart from the glasses, the goatee and the red hair, I apparently resemble him. No really. But I'm much better looking. And more interesting .
and kitkat... neither the TV prog nor the group, although I liked both. Long story, not very interesting and rather complicated. It just seemed to fit. Strangely, I hate being called Ricky - much prefer Rich, but the nickname seemed to flow better with Ricky. Anyway, I'm rambling...
Off to join some more threads...
yes, nice avatar, Alex!
You appear to be right about the good company - you all seem very nice. Insane, yes, but friendly and welcoming. I'd like to attend one of these "munch" things, but can't guarantee it.
This is bizarre. confused I'm logging in on my office computer, and our school ISP has blocked just about any site that can be considered "entertainment" (for example which is a computer music site. Apart from this one, which any kid could log into. Narrow escape when one of my sixth formers wandered into my office as I was reading earlier redface Managed to minimise quickly.
thanks for swift welcoming! biggrin
I look forward to the madness...
...but think it's really probably time to go to bed now!
adios
Hi folks
Joined a few days ago and posted an ad (45965, in case you areinterested smile ) - have been lurking and reading lots of posts and will probably now take it down, as ISTM that you guys are really friendly, and ads aren't really where it's at!
Couldn't agree more with Roger in a recent post. What is it about some guys that makes them think that "any sluts wanna f*ck & s*ck" is a good chat up line? I was highly amused watching a guest get kicked out for persistent bad manners.
So I look forward to meeting some of you lot on here, and maybe in the flesh too wink
Bit worried - this looks rather addictive! I'm busy enough already (any other teachers out there?)!!
