My question is not whether detaching yourself is in concept with the swinging world or not-I know it is. I'm asking whether sometimes you just can't help yourself and you do feel a bit funny/weird/uncomfortable..I was wondering if that came with experience and time or whether even the most "hardened swingers" can slip into feeling that way on occasion..

Correct! Hasbeens, all of them.

I can only suggest that the choice of artistes was down to a UK austerity job lot to satisfy the lefties wishing to further the 'downtrodden' window on London and couldn't help thinking that Rio will outstrip them musically in 2016 with a much more vibrant ensemble.

Sorry just seen it far to many times before. Just gets old hat and especially on TV when if I want I can just go the the club and watch a live ass in action

TBH I am already dreading cermonies and celebrations full of woman with feathers wiggling their ass in the bloody camera.

Sorry for sounding cynical, but I seriously have doubts over some of these claims. To be honest those doubts are based solely around politics, timing and an inherent mistrust of sensational news, not hard facts.
However, what politician is going to go on record claiming such things, knowing that somebody somewhere in the press is going to leap all over it.
In all seriousness how many of these 20 or so 'playing field sell offs' were already in the pipeline before the change of government? How many are a result of land changes? How many leave schools with no playing fields at all?
In Exeter there was a major school rebuilding and refurbishment programme a few years ago. Almost every school was refurbished, or completely rebuilt. Some land changes occurred, for instance a comprehensive school was completely rebuilt from scratch 3/4 of a mile from where it originally sat for 60 odd years. The previous school site and it's playing fields were sold on to a Catholic organisation that now runs the school and it's playing fields privately. Yet this site was on the supposed list of 'sold of sites'.
Another area I know off was sold off to make room for an athletics track, rugby ground, BMX track and indoor and outdoor bowls. The athletics track/facilities are the same ones that one of this years Olympians, Jo Pavey, trains on, and every local school is given use of the facilities by Exeter City Council who own the site. So it's not all doom and gloom.
I accept that there may well have been 20 or so playing field areas sold off amongst the thousands of schools that we as a country maintain, but would someone please look behind the conveniently well timed and sensational headline to get at the facts?

A children's series from the 70's - The Flaxton Boys. Set bbetween the wars, a young lad home from boarding school with his pal (both about 10?) and their adventurews at Flaxton Hall in Yorkshire. It must have been on TyneTees TV cos no-one I have mentiuoned it to remembers it. The only thing I really remember is an opening scene of elder brother flying in to land in the grounds in a wood/fabric single winged 'plane.
Also - I am convinced I am the only person that remembers my childhood. My Mum is losing the details (she is 83 after all) and I swear my sister was swapped by the body snatchers when she went to Uni cos we share absolutely NO memories and we are only 15 months apart.

I remember and want if ever I could find one.
A mood thingy, It was eggtimer shaped but instead of sand it was liquid, if you squeezed the bottom section and you were happy the liquid would travel from the bottom section and up to the top and bubble, the more poor your mood the less inclined it would be to bubble up the top section. My parents owned it and I wasn't allowed to touch it, never seen once since but probably now banned due to Health & Safety or similar.
Andy has always wittered on about a tv programme called 'Branded' it was before his time (he reckons) but he remembers seeing it, started with a man outside of a fort having his stripes taken off.

Once again though Star no mention of alternative arrangements? Sound like sensationalism. My Mum grew up in the 50's her school had no field and no playground yet the school and my Mum played Hockey, Tennis, went swimming and running as well as more I probably don't know. A lot of schools don't have a Swimming pool, don't mean the kids don't go swimming though.

i understand what you say about feeling uncomfortable coming across people youve played with but for me its always good to see them even if its just for a drink or in passing.
i think you have to keep one part of yourself for you.
and the rest for the playing. a sort of different you, that naughty girl inside that youve let loose for a bit.

LOL. The film looks brilliantly bad....just checked and Donald Pleasence claimed this to be the worse film he ever made.

A TV series called Automan, where the main character was digital and drove something like a Lamborghini with fluorescent stripes/lights. He had a sidekick who was a man and whenever he went round a corner he did instantly at 90degrees forcing the "real" man against the passenger window lol
A film called "Theatre of Blood" Where Vincent Price is a rubbish actor/director who insists on only doing Shakespeare plays. Well all the critics pan him and his productions so he decides to kill them in the style of a Shakespeare play; i.e. Merchant of Venice with his pound of flesh ;o) Superbly funny scene when he's trying to cut a blokes head off as his wife is lying next to him in bed...and the aftermath lmao

So far we are not doing as well as we did in the last olympics, a lot of areas where we hoped to get medals where we are not, does anyone think that like me the athletes are perhaps trying too hard in front of thier home crowd, is home advantage actually working against us and high expectations following our best ever results 4 years ago the cause ?
Don't get me wrong I admire very athlete doing it for us and sympathise for those that have not got medals for such hard work and dedication and none have let us down, it is them that worry for not the Nation.
