I have been having trouble for a few weeks now in chat rooms. It takes ages for rooms to load. Then when it does it keeps freezing as in chat just stops although I am typing, sometimes it resumes after a few minutes, but often I have to log in and out only to find the same things happening.
Please could someone help as I am a :cry: minx at the moment.
As I cant hold a conversation down on sh anymore.
I do believe it could be my end but I have tried so many things I dont know what else to try.
I am pretty stupid when it comes to techy stuff so go easy on me

It's happening to all of us. I'm scared to go into the chatroom as it seems to freeze more quickly these days, but trying to have any kind of conversation is virtually impossible. It's even worse when you try to look at any of the cams, even if it's only one.
If it helps you don't have to log out. Simply choose a different room, then once in come back to the original room and everything is back to normal … until it freezes again. In a 20 minute session I've had to do this sometimes 5 or 6 times. It's really tedious so I rarely come in any more.

have you tried a different browser
i have a few similar problems with google chrome but internet explorer is ok and some swear by firefox
also remember to update your flash for each browser you use and keep updating flash every month or so
also try clearing for cache and browser history and do a disc clean and defrag often
only run 1 or 2 windows at a time especially if you are running low on memory

I've tried different browsers including Navigator, IE, Firefox, Opera, Siira, and Camino, and it's made no difference. My flash is right up to date and again has made no difference despite having re-installed it.
I've reduced everything down to 1 window and don't use Messenger but again no difference.

So from this you are left with two possible options.
There is an unresolved problem on your pc.
or
There is a problem with your internet provider.
Can you try your pc at somebody elses house?
Can somebody else try their pc at your house?
That way you could easily eliminate one of these options.
In the past some people have found out after some time that there have been problems with one or both of these. I remember some quite angry stamping of feet posts. Nothing wrong here it's your fault type of posts. But normally, if hundreds of people can get into chat without any problems, and a small number of people can't get in, the fault is probably not at the chatroom end.

Was gonna suggest that, I find I'm lagging at least 5 minutes behind with messenger on, and absolutely no chance of the cam being switched on with that running - turn it off and hey presto SH working like it should
