Lately (since the free trials of the chatrooms) there have been a sudden influx of feckin nobs in the chatrooms.
In the pool in the last few days there has been soooooo many single guys directing and coming out with comments like "I thought this was a sex site, why have all the women got clothes on?"
When you mention no directing they ignore you or just come out with a shit load of abuse, mention rules and they have no idea what you are talking about and dont seem in any rush to find out. There dont seem to be any ops around during the day to police the amount of new people in the rooms.
Any chance of something being done about it?
Fun,
agree with the lack of policing of Chat T&Cs and some of the idiots about.
as most OPS are like most SH members and working, perhaps the Admin/Support team could keep an eye on the room and try and keep some order ?
Absolutely couldn't agree more - it's been anarchy in most rooms with this influx of complete idiots and the removal of the 'whisper' rule has just made it worse.
Our chat screen is nearly every other line an incoming 'whisper' request now from these knobheads. We can't see the wood for the trees....
Well, I too have noticed the issue.
I am cheerily posting the odd no directing rule and reporting any persistent offenders.
I guess this explains the grumpiness earlier. Though I think it's harsh to blame it on free trials. The fact of the matter is, since the switch in chat rooms, everyone is in a much more concentrated a space. That means the knobs are quicker to latch on to something. I myself have been coming across more men pretending to be women than ever before. There will always be knobs on here.
I have also noticed the change (for the worse) in the last couple of days.
Perhaps a polite reminder sent via email and/or PM of the rules and general etiquette is in order?
It would also be nice at this time, if the Chat Ops were to move around the rooms a little bit more ... they do tend to stick to just one room a lot of the time. I appreciate they are here to enjoy the site as much as the rest of us but if these new chat-users aren't kept in line, they're gonna get into trouble, not enjoy the site and may not return as paying members anyway.
Plus, it's pissing off the rest of us! lol

 There is a report button on every members profile and that report is sent to the ops and we will deal and take any action necessary.

When they log into the chat rooms the do see a message which is different to what a regular paid up member see.

I don't know of any chat op that just logs in and then sits in just 1 room dunno from going from room to room when I log in I see all the online chat ops in a variety of rooms. It shouldn't matter what room a chat op is in when they are online because if a member reports a problem, either by pm or by the report button we will deal with that situation ASAP.

Fair play!

I understand but I didn't say all the chat ops simply log in and stay in one room. I could give you many examples of hours and hours spent in certain rooms that rarely get a visit from a chat op - however, I am not criticising their work, just trying to offer productive suggestions to help everyone, including the new users.
Regardless, point taken.
there needs to be a way in the chatroom system that people can report chat issues in realtime and ops can see it regardless of the room they are in, ie a list of all online chatops and you can quick whisper to them

You can always go to the Forum Home Page - at the bottom there's a list of the ops online highlighted in Purple & IM or Msg they're usually pretty quick to answer.

Is that if they are online anywhere on the site or just if they are in the forum?

Ii might be wrong - but if they're logged on.
I've said this before, but it pays to add the chat ops and mods to your favourites list. That way you can see straight away who's on line, where they are on the site, and send them a message/IM them. ;-)

Well I got a recipe book, but that don't make me a chef wink
Only 7 days to go!!!! (It is just till Christmas yeah??) lol
Only 7 days ????
Can't be over soon enough after Friday and Saturday nights being spoilt by some freebie idiots  , and that even with an OP in the room.
Why of why couldn't the nerks be restricted to some of the general areas rather than running riot across multiple regular rooms, causing upset and mayhem

A bit of 'View Only' access might have been a better option. wink
Hi,
Just a comment regarding the free trial...
We are a genuine couple, who through the free trial were able to sample the chatroom.
Having decided we liked it, we have now upgraded for a year.
We were abit unsure as to what the chatroom would actually contain and were wary of joining - the free trial was useful for us.
Whilst obviously this trial has attracted some timewasters/weirdos, surely it is still a good way of introducing genuine new members...
After all, surely no one would wish for the site to stagnate? Variety being the spice of life and all that!?!
Merry Christmas

Hi Puddle's,
And welcome to the site, forum and chat folks - well posted, it's good to see some new faces.
If the 'free' chat access attracts more like you, then yes, it will have been a successful trial. However, the greater proportion of 'new' users seem to have taken it as an invitation to just cause trouble/offence in the rooms as they've not read the AUP or the Chat T&C's. :small-print:

Good thought, though perhaps a modified approach picking up on any 'lessons learnt' from this free trial is being considered by Admin.
Many of the 'freebie' users, like Puddle, have taken to it as it's a good feature, however some of the late night drunks have been an issue.
So full chat access to the usual 'landing' rooms like Pool, Beach Bar, etc. and read only to daily created hosted rooms ?
Just a thought

make your own room...so you get the kick button...

Unfortunately that could potentially end up with you being banned. My understanding is that the user has to break the T&C/AUP to be kicked (?). Being a complete pain in the backside doesn't seem to count, so by kicking them you are giving them the power tp report you for being unfair.
After two hours of being polite to someone who tracked us down everytime we changed room I finally said something direct and to the point to him. I hold my hands up, I shouldn't have done it, but we had had enough. Unfortunately this has resulted in me being threatened with a ban.
Now before anyone jumps on the bandwagon please understand that I am NOT complaining about admon/mods/ops in anyway whatsoever.
However this is an example of how someone on a freebie can adversly affect paying long term members of this site. I would like to urge more care in the future to protect users, while encouraging new life with limited access.
If you have a problem with abuse from any other member, I encourage you to report it. There's an option to report it from within the chatroom, or you can send a PM to any Op who's online or to the Admin account. Include details of which room, the member concerned and approximate time, and Admin will look into it for you.
Member abuse is not welcome on the site and we do all we can (with your help in reporting it) to minimise it occurring. If you are hosting your own room, you are entitled to kick another member if they have broken any chatroom rule, including abuse of other members - you must warn them first before kicking them.
Hope this helps
I'm not sure if membership numbers have been falling and this is an attempt to boost numbers hoping 1% of the free accounts will materialise into a paying member or just a festive gesture of goodwill. Either way I'm not convinced it's been a huge success or very popular with existing members.
Maybe SH should look at other retailers marketing ploys - offer 12 months for the price of 10 (for new & existing members), and/or a referral scheme where you can get 3 months free membership if you introduce a new member.
Hi I realy had some fun in the chatroom free trial, so much infact that i have upgraded for a year, hope i get my moneys worth...

Hi and :welcome: to the 'dark side'!
Now you've paid your money you have far more choice. Take a gander at the other forums, and maybe wander into the Cafe to break in those posting boots!
We have been in two minds about joining this site for a while now, had it not been for the free Chatroom access we probably never would have! But after spending a couple of evenings in the Chatroom we upgraded.
From experience of having membership in various other sites it's the members with the "This is our site, the newbies are ruining it" opinion that ruin swinger sites. In fact the sites that encourage new members to join are much more fun and usually more successful.
We understand that free access brings in a LOT of idiots and disingenuous people but they usually don't last long. We've found that the swinging community in general has a knack of policing itself.
:welcome: to Sh Sid_N_Nancy
Hope you have fun and find what you are looking for.
I have just two complaints tho!
1/ You are too far away fae me lol
2/ I'm Not a single female
