home of the ops,
its no big deal as this is far from an emergency but been asking for two days to speak to someone and as of yet not an op has got in touch..
i think a new system of contacting an op should be looked at as this doesnt seem to work.

Erm... have you tried sending a PM? That's generally how people get in touch with us. The HOCO is only of use to you if one of us is in there when you go in.

which one do you send the pm to? whenever i look there arent any showing as online.. if i send a pm to lets say meeko or bambi they could be on holiday for all i know..
i do check this dg.. maybe occasionally someone popping in the ops room and seeing who needs them would be a good idea?
btw ive never seen an op sitting in there waiting to be contacted and dont blame them.
yet while waiting for an op ive seen no end of ordinary users come and go .. i guess hoping im an op ... as the room is showing one person in.

I can't speak for everyone else... but I get email notifications of PMs so generally check them when they come in. I work in an office so am pretty much online all day, just not necessarily logged into SH.
I don't sit in the HOCO either... I use it when I'm dealing with something or if someone needs help but don't pop in there very often. I guess with old chat there used to be a (1) beside the name on the list so we could see if people were in there at a glance and jump in to help. I don't do that any more.
I would say if it was something urgent then your best bet would be to raise a support ticket for Admin to help you.

it needs looking at dg..
im guessing with chat being an instant contact area and abuse of it can happen 24/7 in any room..it need sa quick fix for issues..
relying on you wouldnt be right.. i could contact you in other ways . etc but wouldnt wish to intrude so personally into yourlife for a chat op reason.. same as your pm box.. i would be very unlikely to use that as i see it as a swingers pm box not an ops.. hope that makes sense.
if theres someone running a room for instance.. contacting admin at 3am could leave the room open for too long.. same as pming you dg.. i know there are ops around at that time sometimes but dont know who they are.. or often where to find them .. the ops room is the only way forward as far as i can see but needs addressing system wise.

I'm not sure how to get round that, if you send in a report we all check those as soon as we log in so I guess that's the quickest way to get in touch with the first person in.
I'll bring it up though. The other thing would be to post a thread in here but that's not very good for privacy.
I hear what you're saying though. I don't know what to suggest other than say that I'm happy for people to PM me if they have an issue and although I can't speak for everyone else I'd guess they don't mind either. Most of the Ops have an Op name and a username so they get peace when they're not helping out. I chose not to cause I don't really mind people getting in touch either way.

how about a .. button thats generic for contacting an available op.. a kind of panic button for emergencies.. or even just a button for general chat room needs.. im sure admin could get one of their techies on this .. would be handy but would make ops a bit busier me thinks

Support tickets don't... only reports regarding the chatrooms are read by Ops.

how do you send a report? been here 8 years and dont know.. unless its called something else and we are getting our wires crossed..
been and had a look on chat room page cant see it.. i think ive come across it somewhere by accident but honestly for the life of me cant find it now.. had a look where id expect to find it and cant.. if it were 3 am id have said sod it by now. Not my problem...and moved on

Hi wild and stag wave

To put a report in you need to do this from the offending users profile, there is an option on profiles to "report user" we are then able to read this and act upon whatever the problem is. If, for instance, it was a report on a room, we can request a log check and any offenders are dealt with appropriately.
If you want to add me as a friend I actively encourage it as you then can see if I am online and message me.

thanks..
just been chatting in a room with 55 members and several talking.. no one knew how to get hold of an op quickly.. i said ''theres a guy opened a room how do i get old of an op quick?'' to get their attention
not one answer that helped .. many said the likes of..
''dont know'' .. ''send an email to admin they will ban him'',,, ''are we supposed to know''.. amongst the ''kill the fucker'' responses..
this does not deal with potential situations quick enough and unless everyone adds every op as a friend then it will never.. this isnt just about me finding an op, its about every user on here finding one quickly, when needed.
this is an issue and currently folk do not know how to deal with it .. still think panic button of sorts could help , i have more ideas if anyone wishes to talk direct ill be more specific.

Personally I think its a waste of a room.
There's never any Mod or Site Op in them, just like all the other sites that ADMIN has.
But that said, if you need assistance from a Mod they're easy to spot and are always helpful, well on this site anyhow.

To be honest, I wouldn't expect a Forum Moderator (MOD) to be found within the Home of the Chat Room Ops 'chat room' (HOCO), as it's a separate role.
Perhaps now that we have the Multi-room functionality in Chat, perhaps there could be scope to develop an enhancement whereby whenever an Admin profile or OP profile logs into chat they are automatically joined into HOCO as well as any other rooms that they are in.
Obviously they are undertaking other functions as well, so as and when another user posts something in HOCO their room tab for that one goes yellow so as to let them know there's a 'message'.
However personally we think that this should be up to Admin and OPs to consider as we've very rarely never been unable to locate one when the occasional need as arisen (a look at the http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/

quickly shows who's online and a simple PM has usually sufficed)

and why on earth would they be sitting in "home of chat ops" waiting for peeps 2 winge at them...they`re real peeps and they are off interacting with their friends n cruising the rooms...
add random chat ops to your friends n u can see instantly who`s on line
