It would help to know what you're using the webcam for, and what iMac you possess. For instance is it an Intel iMac or PPC? Is it a flat panel iMac or Anglepoise iMac, or original 'egg shaped' iMac.

its a mac book pro new one
works on my i mac 24 inc fine, just wont work on the mac book pro
in fact cannot even use the cam on the mac book in the chat rooms so the reason i got a logitech cam
I'm slightly puzzled. If you've got a new Macbook Pro, then that comes with a build in webcam, so you don't need an external one anyway.
The reason why the Logitech doesn't work work with it, I think, is because it doesn't support the graphics chip built into the Macbook Pro.
Getting the cam to work in the chatrooms is a different problem however. In settings, in the chatroom, you need to chose USB for the camera because all of the built in iSight cameras use an internal USB connection, NOT a Firewire connection as was the case with the external iSight camera.
Hope that helps.
