Xtasia - New Owners updates.

Just thought we'd let the site know what changes are afoot at Xtasia, West Brom. Jon and Mal have now retired, and have sold the business to us, Paul & Flirt, ex owners of the Blackpool Fun House, and we're now firmly behind the driving seat at Xtasia.
We took over on the night 40 couples and around 5 singles from SH descended on us, along with all our regular guests, and spent all night trying to ensure the bar didn't run dry!! Great night, thanks to all who attended, and Bambi and team for arranging it all.
Since then, we've been running around trying to get basic changes in place, and thought we'd share a few with you. Please, use this thread to tell us what you'd like to see done to the club...:bounce: lol

Bedding replaced by washable covers
Kitchen rolls replaced with tissue and bins
Couples only area moved to loft allowing single access to dungeon
Grope box moved into dungeon area, away from fire exit
Play furniture in smoke area to provide light entertainment!
Bar stock altered, more choice, same prices.
New booking in system
Loads of smaller changes, probably only noticeable by regulars.

I've a suggestion or two....
Not sure it would work or be very popular but......
How about limiting the number of single guys allowed in and maybe make them pre-book ?
Before anyone accuses me of single male bashing.....I'm a single male.....
I was present at the last get together organised by Bambi and I have to say I was ashamed to be a single male....
The behaviour of the guys in the upper area of the club was akin to a pack of dogs chasing a 3 legged cat :-(
Every time a cpl entered the area a group of them would practically hound them until they either left the area or allowed them to join in....
The sections in that area are clearly marked yet basically no notice was taken by these guys and they occupied all of them....
I'm not sure what can be done to alleviate these problems and maybe limits and pre-booking aren't the way dunno

but it's just a suggestion...
Back when I was part of a couple we used to enjoy the company of single guys but I have to say what happened last Friday would have been very off putting and intimidating for me had I been a couple....
I don't wish to put a downer on what was yet another lovely social event organised by Bambi and I wish you all the best with the club :thumbup:

Well I'm also a single guy and was there last Friday too. In general I agree with what you state above. Unusually at a SH party night, there did seem to be a very large number of single males, whereas in the past I'd have said that the mix between singles and couples was less obvious. There was a bottle neck by the Grope Box, that was almost a wall of guys, it was hard for me to get through as a single guy.
I agree that once upon a time the rules of who went into what area in that section was quite strictly enforced, but for sometime now, no-one seems to bother about whom goes where.
I started a thread on another site asking what people would like to see at Xtasia since the new owners took over. Top of the list was male dress code and working showers the latter of which has now been addressed. Other peoples ideas was a larger dark room and a foam party which I'd personally love to see (not just on couples nights though).
Looking at what Paul & Flirt say at the start of the thread I like what they have sterted to do. Couples only in The Loft, assuming that means the mezzanine floor above the wet area and entranced near the bar sounds good, but I think might be fairly crowded for couples only, however that may mean more couples around the main club. The old couples room, I hadn't realised was a dungeon though I have been in there a few times, but the Grope Box being moved to there sounds fun. As for general cleanliness, well 10/10 for that. All in all a good start it seems.

Just to address the issue of the wall of singles, it was the grope box that caused it, as they all waited for a willing couple to enter, problem being the wall of guys had the opposite effect!! So, we now have the box at the very far end of the dungeon downstairs, so if it creates a mass of singles, at least they are all in a corner of the room.....worked well last night, no wall of guys at all.
Dress code is now being enforced. One polite warning, for first time visits etc, and then no ripped jeans, trainers, caps,and t shirts. Warnings being recorded.
Showers now open, towels and soaps provided.

have to say i agree with steve, as a single male i felt intimidated while there, not intentional ,but still was rather off putting, brought a couple who are very interested in attending more often, and thankfully this didnt put them off, as usual it was a great night, and they were impressed in general, look forward to seeing the changes next time i visit, good idea that people can clean up after any fun.

To hear that anyone felt intimidated at my social comes as a surprise to me,
I would have liked you to come and tell me if you had any problems on the night,
so that I could have addressed the issue there and then.
My highest priority is that everyone enjoys the night, I'm saddened to hear that was not the case. :sad:

As someone that has used the couples area when it was down stairs, I will not be using it upstairs. Its hot stuffy and doesn't allow me to watch other couples easily. I am disappointed in the change confused

We'll be monitoring the couples only idea very closely over the next few weeks. Its critical we get it right, so bear with us as we watch what happens, play with moves and experiment to get it right ok. Nothing is fixed at the moment.
Bambi, I wouldn't worry over the reaction, we saw it happen, and have tried to change things around to make sure it doesn't happen again, but at the time, you were busy hosting, which was what it was all about, thanks for your efforts.

Bambi it's not a problem that was unique to your social hun...
It's something that has been happening ever since I have been going so please don't think anyone blames you or links it to your socials kiss

hi guys, we do like to visit xtasia, we do like the upstairs and hope it be cooler, the cinema room could do with updating, better lighting , the couple only are could lose some sofas for beds to stop people just watching others.
all in all quite excited .

Moving the Friday night Couples Only area to the loft was a mistake. Moved it back to the top lounge area, with sofas etc. Will wait for refurb on loft to take place before looking at options.

Checking the sauna and jacuzzi through this week. Main aim is to start opening on Sunday afternoons 2pm to midnight, as a newcomers, sunday chill out zone. Background music, lazy atmosphere, let folks chat about scene and experiences, without the drama of loud music or having to perform. If you fancy it, we aim to open on the 24th June.

Will Sunday's be open to all or just couples and ladies ?
I let my membership lapse as I now work nights so am unable to attend on Friday's but if there are slots available on Sunday's then I may renew..
Could be worth limiting the number of single guys on a Sunday (even as an experiment allow only pre-booked guys dunno

Sundays is open to all. We aim to use it longer term as a way of meeting, and verifying singles as suitable for the club, like an informal interview. Allowing all to attend without membership, to get a feel for the club, and for us to get a .....nope, re-phrase, and for us to establish they'll fit in with what we're trying to do. lol

Also need to do things gradually as wet area is involved, and we need to get that right!
Pre-booking might be an idea, but doesn't realy help us if the wrong folks pre-book.

Week 3 update for you.
New membership system in, so anyone who never got a card, will now do so!!
Dimmers in on lighting throughout building, so we can now play with the lights for everyones benefit.
Music being addressed constantly and improvements being made. (Realised not everyone will love everything!)
All plants gone from dancefloor
Kitchen Rolls replaced with tissues and wipes
More choices at bar, same low prices.
Dungeon gear all moved to one area for fet play.
Plans for 8 lockable rooms drawn up, work starts 1st July.
Lots of social dates in diary, just Search "Xtasia" to find some for SH Members.
....and we're still listening

Good to see things are being tested we have used the cpls room, but would never consider using the loft, any one over 6ft tall its a nightmare. Only been in there once and with the heat and not being able to stand straight it was not for us do hope we are not alone.

lol, I know how you feel at exactly 6 foot...its a bit of a scrape for me as well. Plan is to make it far more appealing to get down low....so bear with us. New couples room being built over next few weeks...with plenty of head room.

please can you clarify the above?
are you talking, making sure people have the correct manners, and decorum when it comes to a swinging club.. or does this mean if you dont fit a certain look, you will not get membership?

hi xtasia,we would like to say that we have enjoyed all our nights out at the club and hope to have many more...just a couple of negatives for us, the heat in the club sometimes (most of time is unbearable)and we find ourselves stood outside in the smoking area to cool off please turn it down we gonna get naked and have fun anyway lol..is there any chance of swapping some of the fri and sat nights about for a change its always a cpls thing on a sat night why??i'm sure there are lots of people who cant make a friday night because of work and distance to club just would be nice to have some different choice's on a saturday night...thanks and hiope to see all the new changes soon x

Hi, its basics really, no more than that. Its a commitment to meet on a non-play day, indicating they are willing to try harder than just the norm, turn up, have a shag, and vanish. Its basics like hygiene and conversation ability. Not looking at ages, sizes, race, etc. Just core swinging attributes.

Still playing with the heating, need to get thermostats fitted. Bear with us.
The change of nights is interesting and a few asked for it now, so we'll certainly look at options, just want to discuss with lots of regulars first to get a feel for majority opinions.

just an idea....but how about single guys allowed on sat...so long as they come along and are vouched for by couple. That way you won't be over crowded with guys....but at same time a few around and as they are vouched for by others, should be suitably behaved and have correct manners.

Enabling guys to attend on a Saturday wouldn't be a massive issue if it was say a one off or a once a month thing. We don't have children but the majority of couples we know find it easier to get babysitters at a weekend, with the Saturday being easier the a Friday to go to clubs, with less work issues, and more time to actually travel to a club.
The only issue we have with single guys at clubs, is that there are SOME that think that by paying to get in, they have a divine right to have "fun". They follow women/couples around, "hunt" in "packs", are very pushy, and there are even some who don't seem take no for an answer and "forget" to carry condoms!
Don't get us wrong, there are some great guys who go to clubs (mainly off here), but past experience for us has meant we will mainly only go to clubs on a couples only night (generally only venturing out to socials on non-couples nights), if there wasn't a couples only night it would be fair to say we probably would not go.
Perhaps one night a month maybe the first Saturday of the month, making the night before a couples night instead, giving both guys and couples the chance of having a different night to enjoy.
(Just as a p.s. in the interest of fairness, there are some equally pushy couples out there too)
