I know that's a sweeping generalisation and undoubtedly most politicians are sincere and wish nothing but the best for the electorate. However I do think that when interviewed the majority of them come across as right wankers. I don't know how others feel but generally when i see one interviewed or spewing the part line it makes me cringe
I have to agree with Kenty on the sincerity of the majority. Did you hear GB speaking today on the release of the Lockerbie bomber......didn't he sound sincere!!
Oh OK i was just hedging me bets just in case someone posted saying "Its not all of them" Blah de blah blah
I think it was Plato that said only people that didn't want the job should have the job. The only reason they would accept it is because it's for the best.
This civilisation doesn't seem to allow that kind of thinking, which is why one can safely assume any random politician is in it for money and power.
I occasionally despair at their unwillingness to do the right (but unpopular thing) but don't care about them enough to build up any worthwhile personal animosity......with certain prominent exceptions
You can trust an MP as much as you can trust a car salesman selling you a second hand car ?? ...
nuff said ?
The misconception is that they work for us, the reality is that they are in it totally and unreservedly for themselves.
Money, power, the ability to change the law of the land to suit themselves.
I too despise politicians.
