I'm Curious ( Well obviously my profile states that)
I visit both the Chatroom and Forum and witness " Strong Characters" in both!
In the the Chatroom you'll flick/switch rooms but ultimately land back to the same room, one you feel comfortable in.
Sadly of late I've witnessed bullying in both!
There are many in the Chatroom that feel because they've been long standing members feel they have the right to post both snide and rude comments in the chatroom to new fellow members, populate an hour of chat talking about " Poached eggs and all that malarky" but then take control of the room and assume they own it.
To me the Forum is now going down the same route - there is defintely an aura - because I'm here longer - I'm wiser, know the scene!
The BITCHING now in the Forum has become nasty - something I'm not prepared to get involved in!

As relative newbies Paddy we accept that there are long standing friendships and acquaintances in the chatrooms and forums. We don't get the in jokes because we have not been in long enough and that is always going to be the case. We have no idea what the hell people are talking about when they are comparing munch badges but that doesn't make us feel unwelcome. We are the new kids in the class and have to find where to sit and hopefully make friends.
We have never been bullied, ignored yes, had a couple of people disagree with what we put in forum post's but that's what we thought the forums were for. We know not everybody talks to strangers and lets face it, if your in a pub, you don't want to talk to or be friends with everybody else in there.
But Paddy hunny, if you dance for us in front of your kitchen window (again) we will retract all the above and agree with you 100%
We maybe new but we know what side our bread is buttered

To be honest, I think the vast majority of us are here for a laugh and to have some fun. Unfortunately some of the threads have been anything but fun to read, so I can sort of understand why this thread has been started. Most of us really don't want the negativity though, honest 
I'm sorry our return might have put the odd nose out of joint, but I do think practically all of the first page (unlocked) threads are fun or thought provoking though - and long may it continue

I quite agree with your sentiments Paddy the site should be allowed to progress, unfortunately some don't like change and would happily see the site stagnate. I don't see the sudden influx of past contributors and 'recycling' of old threads as a regression of the site, they make the site appear active and interesting. There is very little originality left to be had when it comes to quality threads on forums like this and often topics are repeated. I look through another forum regularly, I'd say 90% is utter drivel the ones of any real quality have been done before often on the previous page.

The simplistic definition of a forum is a place where people have the ability to start communication (in the form of threads) and reply to other people's threads. A member of the community in the forum posts a message, which is visible to everyone in that community. Once read, there is the option to post a reply, which can also be visible to the community. Thus, a discussion can build up without all users having to be online at the same time. A place that shouldn't be hi-jacked on both sides!

I suggest if your need or feel the ability to attack people in the Forum go ahead and permit the Site ADMIN Team to review.
I will stand with my comment " BULLYING" it's happening here and it's happening in the chatroom, it happens in life.

It seems to me that there is an influx of members who have been around for a few years and are back because of recent events. Since their return there are a few who are a little baffled by some of the posts, especially some of the older posts that have been brought back out for an airing. Instead of getting snotty about them :jagsatwork: and seeing a clique where none exists why not read through them and see what fun was had and then take a humourous leaf out of their book and inject some much needed humour yourselves? :notes:
