I wonder what happened to freckledbird dunno
Here's a few more examples of the correct usage of commas/semi-colons for your delight and delectation;
Out of all of the English words that begin with the letter F, fuck is the only word that is referred to as the F word. It's the one magical word, just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. Fuck, as most words in the English language, is derived from German, the word frichen, which means to strike.
In English, fuck falls into many grammatical categories.
As a transitive verb for instance: John fucked Shirley.
As an intransitive verb: Shirley fucks.
Its meaning's not always sexual, it can be used as an adjective such as: John's doing all the fucking work.
As part of an adverb: Shirley talks too fucking much.
As an adverb enhancing an adjective: Shirley is fucking beautiful.
As a noun: I don't give a fuck.
As part of a word, absofuckinlutely, or infuckincredible.
And as almost every word in a sentence: Fuck the fucking fuckers.
As you must realize, there aren't too many words with the versatility of fuck, as in these examples describing situation such as:
Fraud: I got fucked at the used car lot.
Dismay: Ah, fuck it.
Trouble: I guess I'm really fucked now.
Aggression: Don't fuck with me buddy!
Difficulty: I don't understand this fucking question
Inquiry: Who the fuck was that?
Dissatisfaction: I don't like what the fuck is going on here
Incompetence: He's a fuckoff
Dismissal: Why don't you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself?
I'm sure you can think of many more examples. With all these multipurpose applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word. We say use this unique flexible word more often in your daily speech, It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly! FUCK YOU!

Firstly " FOXY " may I say, how glad I am, someone else knows of ITA. I suffered that at my infants school, and I do believe, my spelling has suffered ever since. Somehow I managed to get an A level in both Englinh language, and English literature. My teacher herself said she was amazed how I passed, with my terrible spelling. The answer in reality was simple. In an exam situation, I never used words I couldn't spell. Sometimes I would sit there for a minute or two thinking of another way to say what I wanted, as I couldn't actually spell the word I wanted to use !!
Now as for this Forum and other things I read, I have to say I couldn't care less. So long as I can understand what they are saying, and the point they are trying to put across , does it really matter !!

Dean,
Yes it does matter, hence I started it!
From where I sit it appears that there are plenty on here that are quick to judge/ridicule not only Forum posts, stories and even comment in the main chatroom!
I'll go back to my original post ( part of )
I think we all should be mindful that as a swinging community we all stem from different backgrounds, communities and NOBODY is perfect, but here we're all equals!
I'm involved in assisting others that have never head a great start in life, I do this voluntarily and it's something I enjoy. When I see the progress made by the individuals concerned, the elation when passing exams and their enthusiasm to want to take it further.
Everyone in life has a desire to better themselves, me included and my motto is if I can assist anyone to do that, means their a better person for it.

ITA ruined reading for a lot of people - put them right off it.
The bit in bold is, I think, the key thing. Misusing grammar or spelling can make things hard to understand. It is so easy to misinterpret even the most correctly written stuff when there is no tone of voice to make the meaning and emphasis clear. How many people have seen onmlinbe spats caused by one person getting the wrong impression from an innocently written comment?
I am fine with language developing over time. In fact I love the history of langauage simply BECAUSE it changes over time. But that doesn't mean torturing it into a Frankenstein's monster of itself. biggrin

Sorry G, but even Google translator fails with that sentence! :lol2:
Give over Cubes. You don't really need me to translate do you? Bear in mind I'm of Scottish descent so the sentiment is even more keenly felt! ;)

I understood it, Cubey! Quite impressed with myself, given that I'm a Southerner through-and-through!
<ahem> "Eat all, drink all, pay nothing. And if ever you do anything for nothing, do it for yourself."

:lol2: Thanks.... that helps.
A little bit of Black Country humour for you wink
Teacher--"If yow ad halfcrown in booth ya jacket pockets Aynuk, wot wud yow av."
Aynuk--"Sumbody elsiz coot miss."
:laughabove:
And here we have the very real difference between 'dialect' and 'getting it wrong'.
Dialect is a variation in the form of a language, often based on the use of words that are no longer in use in the main-stream. For instance, 'nowt' comes from 'naught'; very popular in Shakespeare's time, and none the worse for that.
'Could of' or, God forbid 'could ov' is simply incorrect. It is 'could have' as in 'I could have slapped him'. 'I could ofr slapped him is nonsensical.
"Could've" even if it is spelt "could of" makes perfect sense to me and I would suggest to the vast majority've the population.
