what dredful scenes we are witnessing on our tv screens.
peeples lives and homes are being destroyed by a few mindless thugs.
catch them, jail them and throw away the keys.
no justification at all for these criminal acts of violence and destruction.
we are concerned here about our area being a target and it is now getting out of control.
david cameron is coming back to london tonight to share a meeting tom with hopefully strict powers.
curfews and heavy jail terms for those caught.
londons streets are burning, this i beleeve is the start of as the sex pistols said, anarchy in the uk.
bring in the army and give the police the reel powers to tackle these thugs by whatever meens that are available to them. no human right act on these peeple.
what links all these incidents together?

what links all these incidents together?

Mindless violence, simple. Nothing to do with the original shooting of a known gun toting drug dealer who all his mates call a 'nice guy'.
I read elsewhere comments that they should read the riot act to these mindless morons and bring in the troops to shoot looters on sight. No need for troops these days, the Police have weapons enough. Can't use water canon, of course, because the poor little blighters might get wet and die of pneumonia!! How sad.
The big problem with this for the UK is that they have been condemning Gaddafi and Assad for doing just that, so batten down the hatches UK and accept that you are going to be robbed blind - either by the looters, your insurance company in increased premiums or by the Government in increased taxes to pay for your 'security' (or any combination of all three).
It was also suggested that the safest place in these 'hot spots' is probably the Benefits Office. I can't think why.
Gulson will no doubt provide a link to the Governor of the Bank of England's brand of toilet roll in his office toilet in the Palace of Westminster (which he doesn't have, of course).
Just watching the I can remember as a kid is burning and been in Croydon over 100 scum, bring back the riot act
Read that then shoot the buggers.
A dead looter will not loot again.
Give me the gun could do it very easily with no second thought.
Got a rabid animal you put it a looter wont see many on the streets after that.
But not allowed to do that as might infringe their human rights.
So lets have a curfew and ban on all under 18`travelling anywhere on public transport for the rest of the week.

and while we are at it, lets take away all your benefits, pensions, jobs and health care and if you respond by violent protest, lets have martial law to crack your heads open. yes, excellent critical thought here, brilliant. that will get the country back on its feet. just what the doctor erm sorry, banker ordered.
oh and lets hope the u.n. does'nt call for a no fly zone over the u.k.
It must be very concerning for you croydon, being so close to where it's all happening.
I am fortunate in that I live in a quite country area of France well away from these goings on but when I watch riots in Paris and the South of France on French TV, the CRS (French riot Police) and Gendarme go in very hard and quell the violence quickly. There are usually many casualties (not in the Police ranks) and those that die on the mobster side are quickly forgotten. Those that survive are often quietly and speedily deported back to where they came from. If they don't love France, they have no right to be here.
All the main routes in to Paris are reinforced concrete so that, if necessary, tanks can deployed to quell any unrest. The UK's road are a mess with unfilled potholes meaning that anything larger than pedal cycle (even they are vulnerable!) stands no chance of getting through. Little wonder that the Police - who do a marvellous job and should be credited for doing so - are so stretched.
Why should the majority of law abiding people have to put up with these morons, burning down the very community they live in.
Just watched a landmark in Croydon be burnt to the ground.
Explain why .Its not about any of the things you about causing mayhem because they can.
them up and throw away the key.
Do you really think anyone now has any sympathy for these your own community then want my tax money to rebuild you create jobs in that area knowing that if the local scum don`t like something they are going to burn your business to the ground after looting it.
NO didn`t think so.

" have you seen the riots in greece lately...!!!
We have all know we need to cut and tighten our belts.....but I do fear when the cuts are to quick and to deep. People are going to be thrown onto the unemployment scrap heap, at a time very their chances of finding alternative employment is low !! Its a dangerous cocktail of situations that leads to a large amount of people desperate and without hope. I will not be surprised if come next summer, we have full scale riots on our streets !! "
above is what I wrote in september of 2010
I repeated the warning in this thread about the student riots in November 2010:

when i said:
" firstly let me say.....I do not condone and never will condone violence.
However I said in another thread.....that to watch for a 2011 year of unrest and a summer of riots. So many people will be thrown out of work....they will be fighting for their own and their families survival .... this is not just public sector workers. I work for a large multi national company...or should I say I did !! We had a meeting a week ago and they stated that due to the change in government and its policys they have had a economic projection for the UK done. The answer is they came back with is a double dip recession is forcast for 2011....without doubt. Therefore they have decided to cut their UK work force by 25%. Just so happens one is me. Many more across the country will follow. A large number of people all feeling threatened and scared for their familes future........yep I think you will find these student riots were small fry, to what you are going to see this coming year !!!! "
I have warned for a while now that the streets were a tinder box of frustration. What it wanted was a spark. And I'm sorry to say this will spread across the country to most major cities. This is just the start....things will become worse.
None of the above is an excuse for the blatant, mindless damage and violence and criminality that is going on. I utterly and totally deplore it.
All I saying is I can not see why people are surprised by this. I hate to say it...but I did warn you ...twice actually!!

So desperate and without hope that they raid a sport shop (JD's I think) and steal quantities of designer sports gear and trainers...
And TV's from Dixons (or wherever).
Yeah, right.
I see where you are coming from dean, but this is hardly the 1930's with all that entailed leading towards the Jarrow March where people were genuinely desperate and unable to feed their families.
I think I said elsewhere that no Benefits Offices seemed to have been targeted!
indeed not same as the 1930's........this is more like the same as the 1980's riots. riots that I witnessed myself in Birmingham at first hand.
all I say is I take no pleasure from saying..I told you so.....and I tell you now, it will get worse.
"'When you cut facilities, slash jobs, abuse power, discriminate, drive people into deeper poverty and shoot people dead whilst refusing to provide answers or justice, the people will rise up and express their anger and frustration if you refuse to hear their cries. A riot is the language of the unheard." Martin Luther King.
seems he warned as well before me !!
Bring back national service.
1: It'll instill some form of integrity, or back bone, or national pride. Hopefully.
2: It'll at least provide form of basic income.
3: Equip ordinary citizens with the know how to tackle unruly kids on their streets.
If all else fails, bring in life sentences and the death penalty if required.
maybe we should send some of these fuckers to somalia for few months where thay can learn what having nothing!! really means

What.. you have got to be kidding.
You think the Army wants these scum in its ranks. Today's army is a professional force where discipline, integrity, courage and valour are its watchwords.
You think these scum have that?
The only involvement the army should have is to replace the police in London during this awful time and crack some skulls. If there is one thing that the army is good at above anyone else, it is violence... and this appears to be the only language that these scum understand.
1) declare Martial Law
2) have a coup d'etat and replace the government with a Military Junta
3) have a curfew between 6pm and 8am
4) shoot on sight everyone between those hours
5) all ski masks, hats, and hoody's to gave a target sewn on forehead, over ears, and on back
5) all un-employed over 30 to become state informers to the military in order to get benefit
6) fence off Chalk Farm, Hackney, Tottenham, Wood Green, Chingford Mount, Ponders End, Walthamstow, Enfield, Croydon, Peckham, Stratford, Bethnal Green Woolwich, Lewisham, Clapham, Camden, Bromley, Eastham, St Paul's, Toxteth, Dingle, Wavertree, New Basford, Handsworth, and Chapeltown - then rename 'Big Society Ghetto' number 1, 2, 3, etc. so as to expunge their former names.
Well these or similar measures seem to have worked in other 3rd World countries and cities over the decades so perhaps worth a go, afterall only the next step from putting riot police and the army on the streets.
Also letting the Military run the Treasury as well as they've been running the MOD all these years, what else could go wrong ?
You know it makes sense

National service would not involve fully integrating the conscripts into the regular army or putting them on front line duty. Simply break 'em, drill em' and instill discipline. I'm not a huge fan but I believe it makes sense in these times, it should be voluntary and include free university tuition or vocational education on successful completion.
As for deploying the army in a modern suburban environment: You put the army on the street you put guns on the street, some of the rioters have guns too.
Someone lets off one round and nervous fingers pull triggers in response; someone would get shot at some point escalating the violence.
The response needs to be measured and aimed at protecting people and property, with as much evidence gathered on the perpetrators as possible. This includes where neccessary accessing details of peoples facebook, twitter and location via mobile phone records. When things calm down those responsible should be held firmly to account.

Come on! Really? Apparently it's Blackberry Messenger the yoofs are using these days for one, ((( Twitter is for middle-class oldies and ego driven celebs dontcha know! lol ))) but for two, I can tell you quite categorically that during the Leeds Harehills riots of 2001, young lads were inviting their mates over from Oldham and Burnley for a bit of a ruccus using nothing more sophisticated than text messages and voice calls on their mobile phones. You would never have advocated shutting the mobile phone system down just because some were using it to organise illegal activities though, would you?
N x x x ;)
Hey let's play the racist card and get a new television smile
well they talking about taking blackberry chat down so maybe,
and theres loads of following on twitter. you be surprised ;)
anyway if anyone not seen this. then have a look. this is the "youth of today"

Then that is not National Service, the whole point of National Service was to integrate people into the army. At the end of the day it is not the function of the regular army to sort out misfits of society.

That's a fair point - but National Service was not voluntary, and if you made it voluntary then do you believe that these scum would volunteer?

Absolutely. The last time the Army went onto the streets in a public order situation was Belfast in the late sixties. That didn't work, the army are still there now and all of the convicted terrorists were let out as part of a political deal. The army on the streets of London would be the last thing we needed and essentially is an admission that the Police cannot do their job (which they can't on current evidence).
Hopefully they will break out the baton guns tonight and start cracking some skulls.
They are just children being naughty, the courts and the government will treat them as such, a severe telling off is going to come of this. I think many will be grouned for hours for such behaviour.
My kids did the same when they were 3 years old and didn't get thier own way, they threw thier toys around, screamed and shouted, it's what kids do.
I watched two teenage girls on Sky News today saying that it was being done because those who do it got no respect, they sat there drinking thier stolen wine boasting about it being FREE, call me an old git but in my book respect is something to be earned and generally not given to thieves.
Children doing what children do, sadly bad parenting, molly coddling, asbo's not jail, community service orders not borstal, OTT and Politically correct child protection laws, multiple warnings without prosecution or punishment mean that childrens tantrums are now dangerous and destructive.

It is an interesting point - I agree wholeheartedly that respect should not be given to thieves, what is there to respect about that? Nothing as you rightly say.
However, is respect something to be earned? Do I have to earn your respect? No one has to earn mine - they get it automatically, without question.
Whether they keep it is a matter for them.

It is the 3rd of May 1979 …
It is Jeremys' 18th birthday so he goes to the pub,he stands and thinks for a minute 'bitter or lager?'
he decides that he's a bitter drinker and orders a pint
wavy lines wavy lines wavy lines
It is 9th of August 2011 for over 30 years Jeremy has been a regular in the same pub always drinking bitter,he is once more in the pub...... he turns to the barman
“you know what ??” he asks
“No” answers the barman “what”
“I hate bitter”

is it a race issue though browning?
i admit that the areas targeted have a larger than average black comunity, but whilst there are a lot of blacks kids comitting crimes there are also a lot of white kids as well.
now toxteth and brixton were race riots but looting places like bromley and ealing is nothing more than criminals doing what criminals do, and that is theeve.
i am sad to see places like where i grew up in clapham junction destroyed by what can only be called mindless scum. i hope the courts deel with them but knowing what i know about the courts if any of them get more than a year in jail i will be suprised. maybe the courts are to blame a lot of the time for dishing out to leniant sentences.?
Something my dad drummed into us when we were young............
"everyman deserves your respect, until he prove's he does'nt".
Sadly, through my dealings with the typical rioter on the telly at the moment, I have no respect for them. They behave exactly the same way on my bus as they do on the street, they have no respect for anybody.
