Is it just me,or does anyone else get frustrated at the drivers who seemingly totaly oblivious to the empty inside lane, driving normaly at 50 - 70 miles an hour, causing traffic to block up behind them.
They do my flippen head in.

Use the outside lane, over take them, then move back into the middle lane, if it is safe to do so.

Put ya goggles on and read what I have written.
I clearly stated NOT doing 70mph.
No point writing things if people do not read it properly.

A lot of the centre lane hoggers are of an age that called the 3 lanes on a motorway slow, fast and overtaking. Problem is they think 50 is fast and they don't want to overtake, so that is how you get this situation. They have never had an accident, but have caused dozens.
I am of that generation, but looking at the points on my licence have learnt to go with the times.
I am not proud of my points, just a lot more careful now.

It is very frustrating when people hog the middle lane because they have no idea just how much this clogs up traffic behind them. Unfortunately what is worse is the ever increasing number of undertakers seeking to prove a point by undertaking all the backed up traffic in the outside lane as well as the middle lane hoggers. Their attitude seems to be invariably that the mid lane hoggers need teaching a lesson !!
Kent will probably agree that the general standard of car driving has fallen dramatically over the years as car drivers become less and less spatially aware of what is going on around them. Cyclists and motorcyclists are acutely aware of their surroundings and the bigger picture whereas car drivers seem to be much less so these days.

Perhaps riding a bicycle, scooter or moped on the road should be part of the driving syllabus - if not the test itself.
This is not a general criticism of all car drivers but there is an entirely different mindset on two wheels and those observational/awareness skills do transfer to four wheels.
