old names moving on

after the untimely death of Neil it was refreshing to see the banter between all the old names and early members who came back to pay their respects worship

my question really would be what made you guys move on when clearly you had so much fun here dunno

I doubt you will get many people answering this in the public forum.
A lot of people had a lot of fun here, but ultimately I believe politics got in the way.

I'm happy to answer.
1. Circa end 2005. The site changed. I moved to another site, then another, maybe a few more. Still came back here, now and again, to arrange sex with people not on other sites.
2. Circa end 2008. Made a conscious decision to stop swinging, no need to come here for sex. People I had made friends (as in real life friends) were on my social media by then anyway. No need to come here for chats/social.
3. Present. Perfectly happy on other social media. No reason to start swinging again. It got boring.
S'it really. Politics did get in the way in 2005/2006, but long since put away that shit. Just moved on with my life, I guess. I prefer people's real life posts elsewhere, and pictures of their cats, than hearing who fucked who. S'all.

Yes Rob was a great tribute to Neil that a lot of old members popped back in, I cannot think of any other members that would have generated that on here.

To be honest, this pretty much sums up my story/feelings too. So many real life, forever friends have been made here. I'd genuinely say that at least 75% of my closest friendships started on this forum and we now know each other's families and spend a lot of time communicating, if not in each other's company.

To be honest a number of thing.
1, moved to other sites as friends moved and we wanted to stay in contact.
2, site got bought out and things changed. Ie instead of one chat room with great bannter 4 serves turned up with about 50 rooms on each so unable to find people. Its got better now, only one server but still way to many chat rooms.
3, times change swinging is not the same as it used to be. ie, do you fancy going to a bbw social, fet social, club social, bbc social etc etc etc before it was just one social for everyone. Bunch of swingers in one place having a laugh.
4, Also on the subject of times changing, we changed, we still play but even the playing side of things has changed. We have found its more of wham bam (which we can do) but what happened to wham bam, laugh joke, round two, laugh joke drink round three. Now we have noticed its wham bam and there is the door bye.

i actually only left a few months ago when my sister was going for adoption and was told every nook and cranny of the family would be looked into
i do admit the forums and chat changed so much over the years i felt less and less able to contribute, less part of it i guess, how i felt with people moving away etc
things change times change swining changes and people change but friendships are never lost

And us too. Swinging got in the way of real life problems for us, well not so much got in the way but priorities changed etc. Kids are older now so despite us thinking it would get easier, it's not as they won't go to babysitters now without 40million questions! ;) I have 90% of my closest swinging acquired friends on Facebook now and their friendship is more important to me than chasing experiences! Although i'd probably not say no to many of them! :twisted:

No, to answer seriously, it started when most of our friends moved off to A N Other site so we ended up being there more than here. Then life kinda changed around us - Hope and I changed, grew closer, moved in together and found that mostly all that we needed was each other. I'm not exactly saying that swinging was just a phase - it's something we wouldn't rule out under the right circumstances, but that urgent first flush of passion, as felt for a new lover, has long faded.

I just got too busy in the real world with business and house renovation to do it the justice I think it deserves. I was still watching, just not posting for about 2 years.
And yes, the news of Neil's death a couple of weeks back made me think 'I remember that..'

The reason I can't walk away from the scene, is moments like this. Yes, it is tragically sad as to why some people are here posting again, but on Facebook I have friends and acquaintances from this scene, and they are why I can never leave. That link will always be there and even if there is no swinging occurring, the bond that ties is there.
And I suppose that while I am still around the scene, then the scene will be still around me, and I do still have some unfinished business with some people.

I mean I do lurk on another site on the weekends unfortunately work and real life has got in the way. Last swinging dabble was this time last year at cupids....
