My neighbours do the best Xmas lights ever - they collect for a very small animal Rescue charity each year and put on a brilliant show.
what do you think??? Is it Over The Top or Just A Bit Of Fun?
I personally love it, coz its bright, bold and entertaining - a bit like myself :rascal:

I've said this before Niss: dead of night + a couple of discreet extension cables = free leccy for the xmas period!

Xmas is going to be all about family and new beginnings this year :inlove::inlove::inlove:
And copious amounts of raspberry vodka :taz:
Love Xmas lights ,we only got a small front on our house tho sad so not got room to go nuts ...
Will join you in a toast to new beginnings Kat , but make mine a citrus vodka smile
I am having a crap day, think if I saw those lights at Kat ' s neighbours on my way home it would cheer me up! Lets face it,they are OTT but so what? At least you don't have to pay the leccy bill.
Personally I think its way over the top. I wouldn't want to have to have my house lit up by the overpowering lightshow of a neighbour. I wouldn't want to look out my window and see people gawking or worse, have to keep walking past them to get the shopping in etc.
However, each to their own. If just one unhappy child is cheered up then I guess it's worth it somehow.

lol
Trev when I put the offer in on this house I had no idea - then my best friend told me I had just made an offer next door to THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE dunno I had no idea what they were talking about - byt the time we had exchanged contracts they actually had the whole lot up and I was wondering what the hell i had done
They are lovely people, with massive hearts and nobody minds it as its only 4 weeks of the whole year - but I do take your point, the traffic can be a nightmare as people drive from miles to see it
I also worry about the fact we are on the gatwick flight path and pilots might think its the runway bolt
Must throw my lot in with the "good on them for making such an effort" folks. Those guys must have given so many kiddies a real Christmas 'WOW'and all credit to them for that.
Err, ahem....just a bit surprised you have such a manly singing voice though Kat...innocentbolt
Could be worse.
In 2005, Carson Williams, an American electrical engineer, wired up his house with approx 16,000 lights; he then synchonised them to music; Wizards in Winter, from The Lost Christmas Eve album, by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He broadcast the music on a low power FM frequency, available to passers-by in their cars.

And mine's a mars bar vodka. Ta.
