Time for some light hearted fun amidst the current doom n gloom topics.
Profiles, not just on this site and certainly without giving away identities, but they are everywhere, twitter, facebook, other swingers sites, msn etc.
What do you like to see on a profile
What do you hate to see on a profile
What have you found on profiles that make you laugh or cry.
Here is one I found on another swinging site profile today, bearing in mind we all find the ones who describe themselves as professional but cannot spell professional lol

"Very fun, social couple.
Both professional so digression appreciated."

I may be wrong maybe they are kinky but I think they meant discretion banghead not very professional after all dunno
Always makes me laugh....when they say " If your a timewaster don't bother contacting us " LOL....as if they going to take any notice !!!
Picture wise I do love a more erotic picture....leaving a little to the imagination. maybe a picture to show they have a sense of humour.
Must admit I am not so keen on the extreme close up on genital parts....always think they would be better in a some medical journal !!
How can anyone answer the questions about profiles when we all know that no one reads them anyway lol

100% agree with all the above, on another site we use you can put a sort of comment of the day not like the preset ones on here, we often put "seeking timewasters because the genuine people never turn up lol "
close up body parts, waste of time in mho, we all know who has what bits and what they look like and let's be honest, most don't look that nice close up.
I hate cock pics as avatars, I am straight, I don't want to be confronted by a dick when I click on the profile.
We have a few pictures, quite a few, no naked ones though, we like to leave it to the imagination whilst showing basic body shape. For the humour side there are pictures of me wink but we do try to inject some of our personality and sense of humour into our written profile.

First indication of genuine contacts or not, we figure that if they dont read our profile they are either not serious or dont care who they meet which is not the kind of people we are looking for.
We believe that more is learned by what is NOT written in a profile than what is written.

100% agree with you there. We have thought that for many years.
And there is the common potato, the profile says "must have pictures" but they don't have any themselves.
A pet hate of ours is those that say something to the effect of "we don't take this seriously" well it's ok if you mean you don't live your life around the swinging scene and have other interests but we DO take swinging seriously, we have other interests but if we are to have sex with strangers we want to take it very seriously indeed and like to consider all the pros and cons of the lifestyle and those we consider meeting, but I do believe that for the most part that is just a bad way of saying something.
Pictures of only one person, grrrrrrrr
Looking for fun ...... quite common, still waiting to see the first profile that says "we are here to have a lousy time and be abused and let down" wink
We only do protected penatrative sex ourselves, we don't do safe sex because it doesn't exist, honest I fell off the bed having a wank last week, didn't half bang my head. It's like looking both ways when crossing the road, you can't eliminate all the risks but you can cut down on them, crossing the road without looking is downright dangerous.

:giggle: Who knows what people would make of mine then if it's about what's not written! ;)
Generally profiles are usually hyped up hogwash with a sprinkle of yawn-ville and a dollop of hullabaloo. It's only one way to narrow any particular search and is no substitute for inter-personal chemistry, common sense or that 'something is not quite right' spider sense thingie-me-bob. smile But is a useful and sometimes amusing tool to find out how tidy someone's house is, what colour socks they wear and if their wall paper is hideous. ;) lol
Oh contrare Little Gem, I believe that your profile is informative and therefore we do not have to read between the lines, you don't swing, you don't meet people and are upfront and honest about it and do state what you are looking for, since it is not the same as us we would not waste your time or ours contacting you so no harm would be done.
Nothing wrong with your profile it is informative and that is all we look for lol
My profile says it all - not alot lol
I leave it up to my SHrep to speak for me as im to confuzzled most of the time to write my profile again

Again, tells me lot's, cool if we feel like chatting and if we bumped into you at a social we could have a nice social chat but not to be considered for swapping, nice pics though wink
That said the two profiles above tell me what I need to know, that your not here for meeting the likes of us, which is cool, so we move on without wasting your time kiss

Who is 'we' ? I'm an avid reader of peoples profiles, I've got 361,689 on my bookmarks to peruse when I get ten days.
We are going to add a "mail option" to ours which will say "MARK AS UNREAD" lol
Just had a mail from these people on another site
thier profile, every word of it says ........
Mid aged professionals looking for lote of filthy fun mmmmm
One might be forgiven for thinking that a professional couple could write a sentance correctly and spell lots..
I have a question for all the professionals on here "what is spellcheck and proof reading" oh hang on I will ask that of the non-professional lower ranks and uneducated on here, that way I might get a correct answer

Clearly he didn't! Or some of his other posts for that matter. Mids, you need to make sure your posts are correct before making comments about the spelling mistakes on other profiles.

It's not important, it's 'another site' and as such does not figure or exist.

Priceless!
From your profile, Mids:
'...there is no need to send us abusive emails telling us how you think profiles should be, we won't tell you what to write in yours and expect the same courtesy in everything we do'.
OK, so your posts haven't been abusive, but you're pointing out errors in profiles; that's hardly courteous, is it? What if those people read your posts on here and realise they are being made fun of? And by someone whose profile is littered with errors?
People in glass houses and all that.
The 2 profiles I have quoted are not members of this site, as I have stated.
My profile is probably full of errors, but as I have said many times on here, I am not an educated person, failed my 11+ didn't get a single school qualification, no CSE's, no GCE's, not higher education leaving school to join the army at 16, I do not claim to be professional I am honest about what I am, I do not claim to have a Doctorate, Queens Commission, BSc, be a member of the clergy, a Barrister or any other recognised Professional Qualification.
I do have a sense of humour and see the funny side of what some profiles say.
But I take on board your comments and will make no more observations on this thread.
Damned if you do, Damned if you don't, but don't let your ego get the better of you, your not the only destroyer of forum threads on this site

you have to see the funny side ............as for spelling and grammar i am probably the forums worst culprit

Lol, that's the second time you've called me that in a childish pique.
Your the one who said it is 'Time for some light hearted fun amidst the current doom n gloom topics' and then pointed out other peoples foibles. Yet it seems you can't take it when people point out yours.
Have fun picking up your teddies.
I think all this stems from the word professional. People do put this on there ads and profile all the time.
Now correct me if I am wrong, but to be professional means to get paid for doing some work . Therefore you can be a professional cleaner, dustbin man, or a professional solicitor or bank manager !! So by saying your professional simply means you have a JOB !!! Does seem a silly thing to put really !!!
as for spelling, and grammar......well I went to a private school, then a grammar school, and then college...and got A'level in English, but I still can't spell to save my bloody life ... I simply thank the lord for spell check !!!
There was a time when to be classed as professional you had to hold a certain qualification such as a BSc, a Queens Commission, a Doctorate, a Clergyman (yes man because back then there were no clergywomen), a Barrister etc.
There was the exception of Sports Professionals which meant that your main income was from your chosen sport taking you away from amateur status where you had a main job and did sports part time.
Now while I accept that times have changed and this is the 21st Century where we consider others to be professional, I find it amusing that some people think that their job makes them more professional than others, an office manager, a shop owner, a hair stylist with her own salon.
I went to Morrisons yesterday and found all the staff carried out their duties in a most professional manner, my dustbin was emptied in an equally professional manner, it is one thing to indicate that you have a job it is another thing to suggest you are better than the checkout girl or refuse collector.
At the end of the day is it necessary to have a job in order to be a successful swinger or to have a clean home, clean clothes or wash before a meet ? are those that do not claim to be professional going to have a dirty home, not bother to wash before the meet, greet you in a dirty tracksuit and holey T shirt ?
