Re-reading threads from bygone days and feeling both very far from home and very close to many of you, trashy romance novels and watching re-runs of Glee!
At the moment my secret pleasure is Big Bang Theory.
Timmy hates it, so I have to watch it while he's out.
As usual it's all Angels fault!!!

Tell Timmy that Blue says he must get into Big Bang Theory. It's compulsory smackbottom
I'm currently on the edge of my seat watching an episode of Aircrash Investigation that I've never seen before. There's going to be a crash landing. It's very tense.

Oh. I love that. I have several recorded, already watched but still saved to be a saddo and watch again. :-)
In edit - the ending's not gonna change is it!! lol

This one is great. The plane lost all its hydraulics and the pilots had to crash land. Over 100 people died but 185 survived, despite the plane breaking up and setting on fire on impact. The pilots were helped by a passenger who was a DC-10 instructor, they all survived too worship.
The shocking ones are the ones where crashes are caused by a big attack of Stupid... like where someone uses the wrong screws :eeek:

What I like about it is how they work out probable/definite cause to hopefully make air travel even safer.
I saw 'Plane Crash' the other day where they did a deliberate one. One of the things they analysed was the safest seats on a plane. Don't think there was a definitive conclusion - good job else we'd all be fighting for the same handful of seats! But it was interesting to see how a plane responds in certain situations.
The worst ACI episode I've seen 'cause wise' was the pilot who committed suicide and took all the passengers and crew out with him. Can't budget for that can you? :-?

Oh yes, I remember the one. I expect everyone can only go so far until they crack. "Cracking" when in control of a large air craft was quite unfortunate :shock::shock:

I've got this app on my smart phone of choice:

It's really quite addictive, and the paid version flashes up alerts when a plane broadcasts an emergency, and lets you follow the plane in real time (even in 3D) until it touches down. It's reeeeeally scary how many there are each day!
