had the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine a few weeks back and apart from my penis expanding to a comfortable 14 inches I can honestly report no side effects!
It's obviously affected your vision though!

Haha - that should help with vaccine uptake, however, if that’s after one dose, after the second dose you might have some problems lol xx

Ive had both my Vaccinations no problems with them id have it anyway as my friend died from covid 19 and it was awfull so if you get the chance please have it keep save everyone xx
So sorry to hear about your friend but just highlights how important it is for everyone to follow the rules and have your jabs as soon as you're contacted. We've also lost people we know as I imagine have many but there are still people asking to meet which is unbelievable. Once again sorry for your loss xx

I had my letter about a month ago but at the moment the only places to book are at the minimum a 2hr bus journey away. I've been told that ignoring the letter triggers an invite from the gp to have it done in my home town so I'm patiently waiting for them to call!
So bizarre the difference in systems, we are sent letters and appointment times automatically. No hassle, no drama and 3 minutes from the house.
It seems there are two systems running in parallel:
The national one, which allocates appointments at one of the larger vaccination centres within a “reasonable” travelling distance, and;
The local ones which are run by GPs under the local health trust.
I got the invite to the national one by letter, and found that it tried to book me at a centre in another town, presumably because it was the first available slot. I retried and soon a slot popped up at my local centre so I booked that one.
A few days later I got a text from the local service triggered by my GP record which I was able to decline.
Anyway, I’ve had my first jab - the AZ one - and it wasn’t too bad. The following day I had mild flu-like symptoms which lasted around 24 hours. Since then I’ve been fine.

Personally I don't think it is a reasonable distance. I'm in North Devon and the options for me are Taunton, Exeter, Exmouth, Wadebridge, Redruth and 8 sites in Plymouth. If driving, those are between 45mins and 2 1/2hrs but I can't ask someone to give me a lift so I'm stuck waiting for something within a decent public transport range. I've been offered on the national scheme as a carer but I think I have to wait for my age group on the local one - hopefully they'll get to me before they run out of supplies! (that said, with yet another birthday approaching it's quite nice to be at the "too young" end of something! )
No that doesn't seem very reasonable in terms of distance. The assumption is that everyone has access to a car. In any case we are asked to avoid public transport as much as possible. Might be worth mentioning to your gp as they put forward the names on their registers as they might be able to put you back in the system for a local jab as a priority given that you're a carer. Good luck - hope you get it soon.
Never thought being older would be an advantage lol.
