For the lexilagnic among us... keeping a note here of any new words I come across. Feel free to add your own!
For today:
clunge
fap
dissipation
I know 'clunge' from The Inbetweeners, but I'm curious to know what the others mean, and the context in which they were used.
Edit: It seems I guessed 'dissipation' correctly but I wouldn't have got 'fap' in a million years!
I nearly spat my drink out when reading the definition here
interjection
onomatopoeia used to imply male masturbation.
Person 1: Check out this picture of my mom when she was younger.
Person 2: fap fap fap
:lol2:
Glad my mates were never like that.
I've been racking my brains trying to think of a new word I learned today... hmm I got up, had breakfast, went to work, got emails, got rid of spam hmmm not a single new word there, did paperwork, dealt with abusive clients (plenty of expletives, all of which I know by heart) more paperwork, met a few friends atfer work no new words.... hmmmm feeling inadecuate now!
I'm determined to lear a new word tomorrow!
(Does it have to be in English?)
I love words, and play around with words as often as I play around with people.
Well I'd never heard of "fap" or "blumpkin" eeeew!, whatever turns you on I guess. A word I heard very recently, and one which is self explanatory is "heteroflexible", which in many cases is a better definition than bi'....works for me anyway.
To yet another phone call
"Have you heard of the Telephone Preference Service"
are the best words that we've learnt today - they can't apologise/get off the line fast enough
years back, on my uni course, we decided that the word Dispungulate should mean "process of removing hair from bathtub drain.."
blumpkin...........yup i wish i hadnt looked it up either, can defo say it wont be an 'art' i try to perfect
A couple of words I heard today, quite common norally but often not used in the same sentence...
"Murray" and "finalist"!!
:giggle:
incendiary
jiffler
