I'd love to come too. Location...hmm... We need somewhere open-air that allows a bit of privacy/not just anyone being able to get in, could be difficult. A marquee would be good too if it decides to rain. Unless someone knows of a place to hire. Anyone got either of these?

Damn! I just saw this thread and got all excited that a munch on my doorstep might happen and that with a bit of luck I might get invited, I finish reading the thread and... it's cancelled.
Damn you Tanglewood, you can't just get people's hopes up and then play with their emotions like that :srilumpa goes crying in the corner:
I won't propose to organise one as I am new here and nobody knows me and I read the munch page but if somebody else wants to organise one I might be able to lend my place on a sunny weekend (there is a lawn outside my basement flat). The only catch I can think of is that my landlord lives upstairs from me and has children (youngest is a 14 year old daughter) so as long as there aren't too many people 10-15 seems right and they don't yell obscenities it should be allright (an ex-flatmate had organised a BBQ once with at least a dozen people and it went quite well).
So if somebody wants to organise a social event to meet fellow SH members in the south central contact me and I can send you a few pictures of the place so you can see if it is worth checking out in person as a potential munch site (the advantage is that there is my flat just there if it rains and I have quite a big lounge).

What a brilliant idea.
Then reading further through the thread I saw that it was not going to go ahead.
I am happy to arrange a picnic get together.

The problem with this type of thread is it has no direction. Because you don't have a venue or a date sorted out, people can't say definitely yes or definitely no.
My advice, take it or leave it, is to set up both a place and a date, then you will see more accurately how many people are interested. If you have to large or small a venue for the numbers required, then adjust it.
Also don't start asking this on the end of an existing long thread, so that people wont need to read several pages of posts to get to yours with the new info. Start a fresh one with the date in the title. You don't need to name the location, just the approximate location.
