We even get people asking to come to social events on the day they join... yea right, as if. Let them moan and whinge if they want to, they will soon give up and move onto another site to moan all over again. How on earth anyone can even comment on what and who we are when they have only been here a week or so is just beyond me. They don't see the efforts that go into organizing the munches and the social events and the efforts of the moderators etc. They don't have a clue about what makes the site tick and I don't suppose they are even interested.
What I say to them is if they need to moan and whinge about time wasters and not getting meets after being here a week then go and find a site that will provide what it is they want. This site IS successful so they wont change anything here. Those of us that have been here a while know this so why spoil success. If they really do think the site is full of time wasters then the door is that way. There are time wasters in all walks of life. Live with it and try and make the site work for you. it wont work for you by moaning, thats for sure. 17000 people cant ALL be wrong, they cant ALL be time wasters and in fact many of us know they are not because we meet some of them on a regular basis.
Just get on with it and stop expecting instant success. weed through the so called time wasters and build on the people who make the site what it is. After all thats what we have had to do.
