Us northerners are requiring a get together - as there are plenty of big meets taking place the idea of a mid week meet at the pub has come to light.
If you are interested it will be fairly soon and venue and date to be confirmed!

Good to hear about this - count me in. Near the M1? Not so good for those of us who don't drive. I hope it's not too far from public transport, but I'll walk from the nearest rail station if I have to!

All the definates are that it is near Sheffield on Wednesday 19th January.

There are a nice number of people for this casual drink in the pub - it should be a good evening!
This would be a good time to tell all those who have shown interest here or pm'd me, who joined on the date, or a couple of days before the meet was first advertised, OR who pm'd me and asked for the location where we were all going dogging(??FFS) that unfortunately on this occasion I won't be sending the details to them.
Before anyone starts to say about newbies being given a chance - I'm really aware that people actually have to come to meets to get known, and we all had a first 'munch' or meet at one time BUT I also have a responsibility to the other people attending to keep this safe for them too.
I have pm'd those people and explained fully to them that with the nearness of the meet they don't really have a good chance of finding their feet here beforehand - it is on the 19th January, and that hopefully, by the next time (and we hope to have the more casual, social gatherings more regularly if this goes ok) they will be welcomed along.
This is after several responses to me with concern about VERY new members being invited along this time. Hope this sits well with all and sorry if it offends any!
