As everyone has so far said (and we agree) a great big huge thanks to Steveg for sorting out last night. It was a brill night we really enjoyed meeting everyone - the place itself was a bit of a squeeze but we dont think we would want it anyother way - nice to get get really close to people lol.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I don't take compliments very well which is why I hardly ever do anything to earn them.
I thought the star of the evening was Pauline the landlady. I wasn't expecting the numbers we achieved when I first picked the venue so yes, it was a bit small. She coped very well though, especially when the village idiot turned up. She even threw in a free buffet and I defy anybody to complain about the prices behind the bar.
The main reason the night went so well though was the attitude of everyone that made the effort to come. Lots of different people with different experiences and expectations but all with a common interest and a genuine desire to meet and make new friends. A round of applause for everyone.
I should have made a list on the night but from memory (and in no particular order) these are the people that were there:

The landlady was absolutely marvellous, and the room was fine for the number that turned up.. okay, it was cosy and I wish I'd worn less (I think I'd have been cooler in the PVC that RedVelvet persuaded me not to wear!!) but hey, you live and learn! ;)
Now, I'm just kicking myself that I didn't speak to certain people because I hadn't realised they were there!
Steve, do you think this could be a 6-monthly thing, especially if we can sort you out a mailing list so you don't ahve to individual PM??? ;)

I would like to add my praise and thanks to Steveg for the way The Munch turned out and to ALL those people who made it a grand night.
So good in fact that I will start a campaign, both here and in the Chatt Room for Steve to to have the nick of "SIR_STEVE" in gratitude for the work he put into it.

Now that is unfair of me to say - no point in going unless he felt comfortable with it. Maybe he'll feel better about one next time around.
Just a thought - how about in summer we arrange a beach party in the North West or at the nudist beach in Wales? If we go there and so long as we dont upset the naturists, it could be a good laugh, beach bbq's and that type of thing.
