I'm fairly new to this site, but so far there hasn't been any discussion about the Swingers Stories section. Admittedly, some of them are pretty terrible, and most of the rest are ho-hum, but some of them are genuinely erotic. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Also, I like the idea of writing an erotic story to order, so if any members would care to suggest a scenario, I'll have a bash at producing a story based around it.
Hope this suggestion stimulates some interest. (So to speak.)

Think of the horniest situation you've ever been in and write about that. People in literary circles say you should write from the heart, but in this case writing from other more personal parts of the anatomy should produce good results

You're correct, some of the stories are so bad, so badly written and just appear to be the drunken ramblings of lost souls who can't find the 'shutdown' button on their PC. Bad grammar and spelling just add to the problems - oh, and the ones written in all capitals too!
Some are obviously true and others are well written - the joy is when you get those which are both true and well written. However I would hate to put off those people who are not literary giants but have a horny story to tell - I do tend to have a little peek at them now and then

awww... I don't think it is fair to criticise people for badly written stories and grammar. Most of the stories are pretty long and it must have taken the author some time to put them together. I would imagine that the vast majority of people are one-finger typists who probably know how to spell but can't be bothered to go back and correct their mistakes. It stems the creative flow somewhat! (and writing from memory is tricky)
It's not the spelling and grammar that matters but the content. I don't know if it's just me but I find almost all of them pretty sexy! Not so much the fantasy stories but the true ones.
My problem is, I am a touch typist with nimble fingers but bugger all to write about!
But I do enjoy visiting the site and reading postings and especially the stories. I just wish more happened to me so I could contribute instead of read :(

Can you set up some sort of approval rating? I know there have been a few people who posted a story for the first time, and would dearly like to know if it worked for others. That might help improve quality.
I like categories. No idea what though. Like the forums, Dogging, Meetings, Chance encounters, outdoors, group, couple perhaps. Trouble is, the site gets complicated and people stick things in the wrong catagory and you make more work for yourself. And you would have to read through all the stories to make sure they were in the right place. What a terrible job :!:
I know you don't like weeding things unless you have to Mark, everyone is entitled to a say, but what about anything which is not getting read, remove? You can always make exceptions for individual stories.
Now, I am off to read the highly recommended toilet story. If I can find it...

One thing I do find hard (Mark this is for you) is when the author never puts any line endings in. Maybe, at the very least, you could just add the odd carriage return here and there. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the right places (which would mean you reading all the stories thoroughly!) but it helps to break up the long lines.
Maybe a little helpful sentence at the top of the screen to this end would help posters?
I read most of the stories at work when no-one is around which means that I need to keep my mouse on the collapse window button (just in case :! and when I do have to collapse it's hard to find where I got to.. its a hard life eh?

Hi, New Guy here. I have read the stories and rate Shirl's very good as well macman but the trouble is you need to take half a day of work to find them and then another half day to read em!!
I liked the 'Adverse Camber' one as well, brought back memories of when I took a gal up to the Peak District for a picnic on a hill, a chicken salad for lunch, but I forgot to pack the bloody chicken, slammed the boot in frustration and the Morris Traveller went for a ride down the hill. Later it poured with rain and the gal copped off with bloke who had a mini cooper.

I think it is harsh to criticise bad grammar, spelling etc - my typing is gerenally OKish, but if I was writing something a bit hot I'm not sure I would be able to keep up to excellent stardards It's the content that matters. I think everyone should be able to post a story, but maybe only keep all stories on for a limited period of time (say a month?) so that the section doesn't become over-loaded. Perhaps the most popular ones could stay on as "favourites".
I'm not sure the "fantasy"/"reality" distinction would work, I mean I'm thinking of writing one based on reality but a little bit of fantasy might creep in there as well if I get carried away :wink:
